Divorce handled by Jane Maton, draconian attitude, I have been left without money, without my self esteem and everyday is a struggle to feed my children, yet they didn’t care about my case whatsoever making major mistakes along the way. In the end I bought law books, prepared my own bundles, represented myself and succeeded without the help of this “solicitor”. I then found an amazing solicitor in Chigwell who finalised my papers for £900, not for the tens of thousands of pounds paid to this firm. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR MATRIMONIAL LAW…. I have had a close relationship with Martin Shepherd solicitors in Enfield Town for several years and with their professional support, expertise and execution of my needs they got my family and I through some very challenging times. I used them in 3 areas: Matrimonial Will writing service Conveyancing Each area I was dealt with superbly well, knew exactly what I was doing once the processes were explained and ultimately had full faith and trust in my decisions. Antoinette Doyle was my main point of contact and I now consider her a friend as well as my family solicitor such was the wonderful way she worked with me over the recent years. The buyers of our property instructed them we had accepted the offer from Dec 2018. They only applied for local searches in April 2019 and even then took a month to get them back. They did nothing with the file for 4 months even though our solicitors had sent them initial documentation. Our buyers had to extend their mortgage offer as they were taking so long. Even knowing the urgency, when they received the searches back they took over 24hrs to raise any enquiries on them. Our solicitor responded first thing on the Friday morning but heard nothing back only to find out the week after their solicitor (Christina Petrou) had gone on holiday for a week but didn't even inform her clients. On top of that there was nobody in the entire firm that was able to take over the file in her absence which has now caused even further delays and we are at risk of losing our purchase due to her incompetence and unprofessionalism. How come someone not even have the common curtesy to inform their clients or anyone involved in the mater that they will be away knowing the amount of delays they have already caused and the urgency of the matter. Totally unprofessional and rude. Will never work with this firm again, absolutely ridiculous.... Read more

Antoinette Doyle handled my divorce case for me which wasn't the most straightforward of cases. She was extremely supportive and was totally professional from day one right through to the very stressful court case. The outcome was better than I could have wished for under the circumstances and I would definitely recommend her to anybody who needs a divorce lawyer. Whenever I emailed her or phoned her she was quick to respond with very good advice. I would like to thank her for everything she did for me at a very difficult time in my life. Extremely poor service!!! I had an appointment with Jane Maton, who allegedly has had over 25 years experience in Matrimonial Cases. During the Consulation she was abrubt, rude, and actually "shouted at me" , at the end of the consultation she did actually apologise for "shouting at me"!!! The case that I was discussing was very sensetive, however she seemed somewhat "Draconian" in her attitude!!! I rang her office the following day after the consultation, to clarify on a few points. I was told that Jane was unavailable, but would return my call. Two days later and no reply. Absoulutely Outrageous in this "Day and Age" Avoid Like The Plague!!!!!... Read more

Very unprofessional service provided. Attempted to purchase a property 2 years ago and pulled out very early on, paying an initial fee for work that I thought was completed. Two years later I receive a bill saying I have an outstanding balance. Not sure how they managed this oversight, but I will not be using Martin Shepard again in the future.... Read more

This company sacked me because I didn't mention the surname of a family law solicitor in my email. Antoinette Doyle shouted at me and said I made a BIG mistake and that I was unprofessional. Antoinette Doyle also told me off harshly for giving an envelope with the letter the wrong way round and I had to take it back to turn it around. I was also shouted at for making an appointment for her despite it being in my job description and being told on an occasion to do so. Does it really deserve being bullied in the form of being shouted at???!! Here is the unproffessional part..... my job was advertised on Gumtree for 3 days before I spotted it. I could tell something was not right as the Practice Manager would not look at me properly. When I confronted them I was made to leave. Not such a professional company after all. A professional company would call the person in and point out any mistakes and ask them to improve etc. Honesty really is the best policy and bullying should not be accepted.... Read more
