My wife and instructed Julian to list our property in late February this year and within 3 days we received several offers. Lydia then tracked the sale for us, keeping us advised of progress and geeing the chain on when required. We exchange contracts yesterday with completion due in early June. My partner and I were passively looking to upgrade from our existing flat and had some specific requirements if we were to move. We viewed and ultimately ended up letting a property through John D Wood via Lucy. Lucy was exceptional throughout the process including handover and ensuring inquiries were dealt with in a timely manner shortly after moving in. We viewed and paid a deposit all within 24 hours of viewing the property all with timely and constant communication. This was the second property that we had let while being abroad and I must say, the entire process went seamlessly and reassured us throughout. Any questions that we had were handled on the spot and if they weren't, they came back to us asap. The only slight downer on this experience was the fact the landlord wanted to add in a clause to increase the rent by 2-5% (after 12 months) less than 48 hours before we were due to fly in from Portugal and move in on the same day. This was after we'd signed the contract and paid all the required money. I don't hold John D Wood accountable for this as this is a landlords decision, however, I would have expected them to push back as this felt like it was negotiated in bad faith and seems unfair. Noting we had signed a 24 month contract with an 18-month break. That aside, I look forward to working with Lucy and the wider team of John D Wood in the future.... Read more

I would give 0 stars if it was an option. We rented a total catfish of a property for 9 months (21 Vaughan Ave) - it looked great from a glance, but was total rubbish underneath. Everything broke... we had a burst pipe, broken toilet, broken boiler, broken fridge, broken front door, broken washing machine, broken dishwasher, and way more. The worst was a blocked sink for 3 months due to incompetent plumbing. Paired with the broken dishwasher, we had to do all of our washing up, for four people, in a bucket and empty it in the gutter in the street. It was miserable. The landlord refused to pay for anything to be fixed when needed, despite us shelling out around £1k each per month for this hell-hole of a property. What does it say about JD Wood to be complicit in such a dire arrangement? They totally failed in their duty to supply a livable property. The worst thing, and the thing that hurts the most, is that the tyrant of a landlord try to steal practically all £4k of our deposit money from us. When it came to TDS adjudication, Harry from JD Wood submitted what we suspect to be false check-in reports that we had never seen before, along with lies about what we were like as tenants. Thankfully, the TDS can see through the BS, and has awarded us our deposit back in full. JD Wood are 100% on the side of the landlord and will make your life a misery. Do not rent with them, ever.... We recently ended our tenancy with a house in Chiswick due to the state of the house being in constant disrepair from poor maintenance and being a low quality build. The day we moved in the pipe leading to the water heater flooded the kitchen and we had similar issue with the property on a monthly basis for the rest of the tenancy. When moving out we were presented with a false check-in report that we have evidence never occurred in a bid to claim the full deposit by the landlord. During our tenancy we kept good care of the property paying for cleaners and gardeners regularly. We even dealt with many repairs ourselves, one of which our kitchen sink was blocked for one and a half months and we were having to use buckets. This was verified by 3 plumbers was not our doing and that the pipes where build with small pipes angles incorrectly. This and other examples meant the landlord during our tenancy clearly did not even fulfil his legal duty for repairs and lead to us moving out despite having no other need to move. We have attempted to defend our deposit in small claim proving that the check in report was falsified by the fact that images in the report clearly was taken in Summer when the report is dated to Autumn. However, the Agent at Wood's have backed the landlord all the way, testifying that we were poor tenants and that they can verify the validity of the report. All blatant lies to defend their customer. The behaviour is despicable and if looking to rent I would strongly suggest you do not deal with John D Wood as they do not have your back and will lie for their landlords.... Read more

I was extremely impressed with the sales team in the Chiswick office. I have had previous, extremely negative experiences with other local agents, however, I can confidently state that the team here are professional, dedicated, and an absolute pleasure to deal with. They sold our house in Bedford Park in a quiet period of the market, just after the stamp duty holiday had ended, however at no point did I feel the difficult task of achieving our desired sales price within our specified time-frames was too much to handle, and the advice we received from Julian their Branch Sales Manager was simply exemplary!
