Sarah from Foxtons was simply an amazing lettings agent, absolutely recommend! Having talked to so many agents from different companies across London, she was the only one that truly took an interest in helping us find our ideal home, took the time to understand our interests and recommended appropriate properties. She stayed positive after a few that didn't work out, so we felt we could be honest on our expectations for a properly. I would not recommend renters to use this agency or branch in particular. I recently rented with them and they are impatient, misleading and uncompassionate. While these may not be most necessary characteristics of an estate agents, they are still essential to ensure a positive, recommendable and stress-free experience when renting. The agency do nothing but demand inconsiderately and do not prioritise the tenant but of course solely the tenant's money and force large sums of money yet can not save important documents, even spell names correctly or keep the correct tenancy agreement copy. I won't get started on the 4 week long "technical" problem they had regarding referencing, nor the inexistent inventory and nonchalant reaction. The team lack initiative, customer care, experience and knowledge. For a stress-free, pleasant experience when renting in London, these are not your agents. They told lies and miscommunicated numerous times and I cannot stress this enough. I will certainly not be renting, buying or dealing with Foxtons in the future.... Read more

Sold a property through Foxtons, very aggressive in getting you a buyer - which is good. They were extremely annoying when it came to buying a property, I wasn't interested in buying through them as their selection on available property was poor in comparison to others. They persisted, which was frustrating. I was then pretty much begged to use their recommended solicitors, as they were so eager for further commission. The solicitors were a nightmare, absolutely useless. Would only use Foxtons to sell, nothing else. Then I would block their number after.... Read more

I stayed in a short let in St. John's Wood through Foxtons during a temporary work assignment that brought me from the US to London. The “service” provided throughout the entire process was appalling and I would advise others to avoid Foxtons at all costs. Their worst offense was forcing me to vacate my contracted property 10 days early and providing no alternative accommodation or compensation to cover an equivalent property. Foxtons’ online search tool is useless as it is not kept up to date, so the majority of properties shown are not actually available. No one told me this until I was weeks into my search, wasting valuable time. Throughout my search and tenancy, Foxtons staff rarely answered my calls or emails (note that I was calling within their core business hours). When they did return my calls during my search, they typically did so at 3am my time despite knowing I was located in the US. When I moved into the property, I noticed major maintenance issues and immediately entered a request into their portal. The property was supposedly “managed” by Foxtons. These issues were never addressed during my tenancy, which was particularly shocking considering the astronomically high rent. A month into my tenancy, I was notified that I would need to vacate the property 10 days earlier than agreed due to a “miscommunication with the landlord” on the part of Foxtons. They were unable to provide alternative accommodation and did not provide any additional compensation to cover the higher nightly rates. Foxtons did refund the 10 days of rent, but considering the very late notice, this did not sufficiently cover the prevailing nightly accommodation rates by a wide margin. I was told this was “my problem,” even though this was Foxtons’ error by their own admission. The only reason why I used Foxtons vs. an alternative like Air Bnb was due to the security of having a tenancy contract, but this incident proved that Foxtons does not care about contracts or customer service and will take advantage of non-locals like myself. After I moved out, Foxtons continued to waste my time and money with their extremely delayed return of my deposit. I called and emailed them multiple times a week and received excuse after excuse, before finally receiving my deposit back nearly two months later. Looking at other reviews, my experiences are unfortunately common, demonstrating that Foxtons makes a regular habit of abysmal service. Foxtons has shockingly poor business practices, and once again I would urge others to avoid them at all costs as they will take your money and run.... Read more
