Horrendous experience. I called and looked to arrange a viewing of a newly listed rental property. I was told a colleague would return my call, this never happened and after 24hrs I called back to be told it’s off market and an offer had been made. THEY ILLEGALLY BROKE the “TENANT FEES ACT” by withholding my holding deposits and never granting me a property! SCAMMING CRIMINALS!
They will try to move this review but we will keep posting to warn everyone!
Jacqueline Grant from the Queenstown road branch handled my references and failed miserably to realise that their 3rd party referencing checks were incorrectly handled and incomplete,
despite dozens of calls and emails of me proving to Jacqueline Grant that they made a mistake with proof from my bank and a solicitor to verify it, she still didn't care! they stole £700 deposit for a flat I never got to even see!
and Garton Jones are doing this on a DAILY basis, pocketing deposits from naive potential tenants. This is embezzlement and ILLEGAL, and they need to be put BANG TO RIGHTS.
They tried to discredit me as a liar/ fraud/ fake/ false references but i used OPEN BANKING TO PROVE MY IDENTITY AND FINANCES WERE CONSIDERABLY ABOVE THE 30x rent requirement but they told me it was too late and open banking wasn't accepted due to a system failure!!!!!! (how is that my fault?!)
I have kept quiet long enough, but I will continue to warn every unsuspecting international overseas or UK based native tenant that Garton Jones are operating predatory scamming bullying tactics to STEAL HOLDING DEPOSITs on the false pretence of 'you didn't pass referencing' without giving any reason as to why! EVEN IF YOU PASS REFERENCING WITH EVERY OTHER AGENCY, they do not care.
I will out you *Jacqueline Grant* and Garton Jones on every national paper, you owe me £700 and £650 for 2 illegal holdings of holding deposits with your scammy referencing procedure!
