Before I begin it is unsurprising to read that most positive reviews are to do with home sales - in my own PERSONAL experience when PC&Co have your money, they are finished with you!!! I have never experienced discrimination on the level I have from Peter Clarke and Co which has now caused me serious destress and they also don’t care. I have enquired about some building works on a communal building my flat is located in. As Peter Clarke and Co didn’t ‘order’ the works they have literally told me they are unwilling to discuss it. Harriet is by far one of the rudest people I have EVER spoken to on the phone, huffing and puffing and cutting me off to tell me she ‘wants to go home’. When Michael is done talking to you, he ignores you. I also have NEVER had to seek advice from a solicitor before. Before renting to me PC&Co knew I had certain health conditions and the response I have had is not only unkind, but actually discrimination. They have made me feel so terrible and worthless for things that I cannot control. If you suffer with any form of health condition DO NOT become a tenant with this agent. They will only find you an ‘irritation’ for what I can only presume is small charge they get for managing. I am now being ignored no matter who I email. I have actually asked Michael for a document letting me know what PCCo’s internal obligations to tenants are - this has been ignored - I asked Harriet for this on the phone. I have asked for the details of the individual I need to begin an internal complaint, ignored. I am not even sure it is completely legal to refuse these documentations and details if asked. The person responsible for this company seriously needs to consider some further training in basic customer service and compassion for these (seemingly) arrogant and offensive agents. If a response is left to this publicly I am sure it’ll all be my fault - they are full of words and very little action. They actually have not the single interest in even trying to disguise their absolute disdain for you. Michael even commented that ‘works would not stop because of me’ - I never asked them to. PC&Co also knew these works were beginning and failed to be transparent of the gravity of the situation and impact it’d have on peoples lives. That was my qualm. Only in Stratford Upon Avon ehhh!!! They’ll be very glad too hear I won’t be renewing my contract, but certainly not as glad as I am. I’m sure I will also be completely ‘paid back’ in my checkout process and I’m sure I’ll be getting plenty of emails from them about ‘what they want’. A service poorer I am yet to encounter. Even last year a few days before x-mas I locked myself out and though they held a key they refused to assist me but to give me the number of a ‘locksmith’ … 80£ later. In the communal area I reside in I know one thing, I am not alone in my ideas of this companies attitude. Even the lady who comes and does inspections likes to comment on your personal decor and a more sarcastic person I’m yet to meet. Once they have your money they’ll be done with you and with my already pre existing issues I now have to spend time wasting the remainder of my tenancy filling out paperwork for ombudsmen and the like. You know I wasn’t even allowed too move out on July 1st even though I pay my last rent this month … me thinks that’s due to the place being covered in scaffolding with workmen right outside the window drilling into the walls. Curious right??? On a slightly different matter. 1. Recently received a revised ‘fire’ documentation even though the electrics cupboard for the area is full of other neighbours junk and flammable liquid. I don’t understand how this has been verified and signed off. Oh well, at least that cupboard is only underneath my kitchen. Customer service - What service??? I wouldn’t recommend Peter Clarke based on the service I received from the Stratford upon Avon branch in particular Kerry and Harriet. Firstly, we were told that all viewings would be done on one or a couple of days. This did not happen, all the viewings were scattered as and when it suited those who viewed. They did not take into consideration that we are both working full time from home, and this was not always practical. On one of the viewing we were not home so asked that Kerry would hold on to the keys and put them through the letterbox when done. She held onto our keys for a week and we had to call the office to be told they would be dropped off but they were not dropped off until a further chaser. Once we had sold, we were being called and emailed on a daily basis with regards to updates relating to matters being out of our control. Having found a buyer for our house they had set very unrealistic timescales to appease the buyers this was under two months. For any buyer this would have been the dream… and as such the buyers rightly so kept pushing for everything to be expedited. We were specifically advised by Kerry to contact our management company ourselves in order to obtain a management pack as she advised that doing this ourselves would ‘speed up’ the process. As per her instruction we contacted the management company who were unable to liaise with us directly due to this being a matter that needed to be dealt with by the solicitor. As a result of the incorrect information, we endured over a month of constant calls and emails both from Harriet and Kerry asking what progress had been made with the management company. It even got to a point where Kerry pretended to be my partner to contact the management company herself. After a whole month had passed and no progress, I contacted my solicitor to advise that we are still waiting for the management pack, she made contact with the management company and within a day she was in receipt of the management pack because the request had to come from the solicitor. If we hadn’t been incorrectly advised in the first instance, we would have saved a lot of hassle. We had a lot of calls and emails from them all in a chasing nature for the sole interest of the buyer, it genuinely felt like we were not their client who would have been paying for their service and the buyer was! As a result of this our sale had fallen through and subsequently, we were not able to fulfil the purchase of our new home. We were left quite upset by the whole experience but they didn’t really care… once we were told the sale had fallen through they didn’t bother contacting us again until over a week later to ask if we wanted to relist our house again.... Absolutely excellent throughout an often fraught two year process. What stood out was how even when I had marketed with other local and online agents, and especially when I was having jitters while selling with PC, Jonathan Joy was unfailingly helpful, understanding , supportive, proactive and problem-solving, and above all brilliant at his job. Agents have a great deal to put up with from buyers (myself included!) and often have a poor reputation, and yet throughout the lengthy and complicated process, everyone was meticulously professional, absolutely lovely to deal with and always good-humoured. Micheal hawkins and his team have been absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Very professional very proactive and supportive during every step of the process. I purchased a house in stratford and then used their services again to sell a house and during both services they were just amazing. I was approached by a small local firm who offered a lower cost but I am delighted that I chose to pay more and get such a great service. It’s also worthwhile to note the lower costs agents were way off on the valuations too. You might save a few £ but you will lose much more.
