Palmer & Partners arranged viewings in the winter months when I was working away and could not be there. They found a suitable buyer quickly and sold my property for a good price, so I am happy with the service they provided.

Where to start? In fairness I must state that they eventually released me from the eye-watering SIX MONTH contract - having lied that this had been discussed with me and was the same in every other agent on the high street. I made 3 quick calls and was even told by one agent that "that's an outright lie and they [Palmers] know it". I was given a 14 day cooling off period on the contract - but they didn't give me the contract to consider! When I called in to request it, he turned the office upside down looking for it before it was found crumpled in the bottom of a filing cabinet. It was a carbon copy - ie attached to the contract - so WHY wasn't it handed over at time of signing? Probably because the whole process was rushed and rather desperate. House details were duly advertised. Dimensions of lounge & hallway were wrong and my 4m x 4m summer house/home office was described as a "wooden shed". Yes. They corrected the measurements, but the damage was done - people had seen it and were now "swiping left". The attitude of the girl in the office (not going to name her) was rude and condescending. She flatly refused my request to email potential buyers to correct the house details (the branch manager later told me that had he realised that I'd requested this, he would have made sure it was done) And nobody expects to have the phrases - "well, you didn't actually expect to get the asking price did you?" and "we can't magic up buyers can we?" - thrown at them! Statements were made which were flatly denied a week later and my house was being advertised without a valid EPC - opening me as vendor to a fine. Another lie here - the guy who carried out the EPC told me that Palmers had instructed him 3 days before he turned up to do it. Palmers told me that they had instructed him 3 weeks earlier than this! On balance, I believe the EPC guy!
Anyway, that's a quick outline - it took a letter to the CEO of the company to achieve a satisfactory outcome, which for me, was a phone discussion with the branch manager followed up by a letter apologising for the manner in which my custom had been mishandled. He offered to release me from the outrageous 26 week contract and - thank God - I was able to walk away from the whole sorry business.
Awful. DO NOT touch this company with a barge pole! (this is written 1 month after all dealings with Palmer & Partners ended - it is not a knee-jerk, but has been carefully considered!)

Bad communication. Trying to arrange a viewing, rang up first thing, and i said I can do every evening, she said she will talk to the vendor. When i rang back the third time to see what dates the vendor could do, she said it was only Saturday viewings, of which the estate agent never talked about! Why didn't you say this from the beginning? And now all the slots are booked up by the end of the day. So ungrateful and very disappointed.

Fantastic support right from the start. As first time buyers, the experience of purchasing a property was completely new to us and with the help and support from Dan the process was smooth and (relatively) stress free! Dan helped us liaise with our solicitors and mortgage broker so communication was kept throughout. If you’re looking to purchase in the Sudbury area, we absolutely recommend.
