Manning Stainton were ok, but not great. They carried out all of the viewings for me, which was good, and I’d accepted an offer within a couple of weeks, which was also good. But I’d have liked a bit more proactivity from them in watching the market between me agreeing to sell with them and the sale going live - that was something I ended up doing myself. Some of the updates they gave me were inaccurate, which added to my stress levels. At times, after I’d accepted an offer, it felt as though they had forgotten that I was their client (rather than the buyer). On more than one occasion they updated me on what I had done/what my solicitors had done (which I already knew!), rather than on what the buyer/their solicitors had done (which would have been far more helpful). ... It felt like they were acting for the buyer rather than us who were paying them. They put forward an offer to us that meant we cancelled subsequent viewings. They had not checked the buyers position & when they did, it was too late for us to do anything about the cancelled viewings. We were put in a very difficult position by the estate agent to accept an offer that was not as presented.... Read more
