The rating is for Wendy in the Ashington branch who could not have been more helpful, and such a lovely lady.
Unfortunately the head office were not as good - paperwork not prepared in good time and other issues too. I would just about give 1 star to them.

I went with Alistair Bowman for my first house buy a few years back, I took out the lifetime cover and as such he's just also helped me renew my mortgage deal for no extra cost. He made the whole process very easy and painless, couldn't recommend him enough! 10/10!

Used RMS in Ashington in both original house purchase, and recent re-mortgaging process. On both occasions, I cannot fault the service provided.
Alistair Bowman's services as a mortgage advisor in the branch cannot be faulted - responsive with timely updates throughout the entire process in very challenging economic times, as well as proactively monitoring interest rates in the slim hope a better deal might become available. It made navigating my first re-mortgaging process far more comfortable and less stressful. Would definitely recommend to friends and family!

I wasn’t too impressed with the overall initial performance of the Ashington Office, the initial advert to sell the house was incorrect and there were communication issues regarding the for sale sign, though these did get sorted quite quickly. It took 6 months + from sale to completion and at times it seamed to go quiet with regards to progress on the sale and keeping track of the chain and solicitors. As we neared the completion, Wendy did pull out all the stops and chase all levels of the chain (6 levels) and keep us updated. A big thank you to Wendy and the Team for getting us over the finish line in what turned out to be a stressful last few months.

Used Rook Matthews Sayer for a re-mortgage as a returning customer. Rook Matthews were quick to contact us approximately 6 months ago to remind us that our existing mortgage was due to expire, a service we had not received previously from a different mortgage service which had resulted in us transferring to a standard interest rate and costing us more. The Track My Case option was handy to track progress.
Alistair Bowman was our advisor a few years ago and recently. He has been so helpful, identifying the best time to search for a mortgage deal, providing regular updates and an alternative contact if he was unavailable and once a provisional deal was agreed, Alistair continued to check the market to ensure we had the most appropriate deal as interest rates continued to change. He has been honest in his advice, confirming that as we are close to paying off our mortgage, this would be the last time we would require a broker as the range of options in future years would be limited. I would have no hesitation in continuing to use Rooks Matthews and especially Alistair and would recommend them to anyone.

The Forest Hall branch were really good through my whole sale, especially my mortgage Alistair Bowman. Without him and the estate agents pushing the solicitors I am dubious if the sale would have ever complete! First house and I had zero clue, so I just followed all his knowledgeable advise.

Dealt with Wendy mainly at the Ashington Branch, to be honest if it hadn't of been for her and the sellers agent we would have never achieved a sale and purchase as the solicitors (Gilson gray) were terrible. We were never told by Gilson Gray we could move in and even up to today we have not been told that although they were mega quick with the bill! We were however told we could by the estate agents as they advised us they had received the money. Both estate agents have been brilliant. I would highly recommend Rook Matthews Sayer in Ashington 100% The whole team are excellent.
