Very poor experience.
We made an offer on a property. This offer was accepted and we weren’t notified about it until days later. Constantly trying to chase people in the office, staff clearly never communicated, we should’ve had one person to deal with. Yet here we are having dealt with any number of them.
Upon making the offer we explained we are not in chain but one of us will be coming off another mortgage, however we do not have anything to sell. We are classed as home movers but without anything to sell. We have multiples AIPs and we were asked to provide our most recent one, which we did three days after our offer was accepted. Today we were told we didn’t send an AIP but an online calculator, sorry but the document sent to you literally says “agreement in principle certificate”.
Four days after our offer was accepted we’ve now been notified the seller wished to go with another offer.
Only today when we’ve been told we’ve lost the property have we been asked to provide any documentation. Only today have we been given an email to contact a specific person.
Overall absolutely disgusting and piss poor organisation. We could have had all required documentation in weeks ago if it had been communicated to us but instead we’re now highly unlikely to get the property we were set on.
We will explicitly not purchase via WHB due to this experience.
Disgraceful is an understatement.

We had a really good experience with the Barnsley team. Erica and Liam were an absolute pleasure to deal with. From the first interaction right through to move in date they were professional and provided an outstanding service throughout the process.

Absolutely diabolical communication is despicable I made an offer on a home they said they would be in touch within 24hrs waited days still nothing...I then called for them to tell Mr 4 o'clock the same day low and behold nothing again called again only to be spoke to in a very rude unprofessional manner disgusting customer service...I will never try to buy a house through this company again AVOID AVOID AVOID

I've been looking for a place to live for a while, after seeing this property I contacted the estate agents, I was met by Liam who has been fantastic all the way through, he stayed professional and patient with me right up to me moving in , even after he has been helpful with any questions I have.

Would like to give no stars. Absolutely shocking service. Put my house on the market with them as I wanted to buy a new bungulow they were selling which they said they would reserve for me with the intention of selling my house within 6 weeks. My house quickly had an offer which I accepted so I thought great I would be able to buy the bungulow only to be told they had sold it to a first time buyer. This really upset me but as I had an offer on my house I found another property. Every step of the way I have always had to contact them regarding my sale, always hard to get hold of and never return your calls. The manager of the branch on a few occasions wasn't very nice in the way she spoke to me. After about 9 weeks my sale gas fallen through so I wanted to take my house off the market with them. Unfortunately unbeknown to me I had signed a 20 week contract which was not mentioned in anyway to me at the time, i was told i could walk away. It is up to the branch manager to terminate this contract but she will not. Meanwhile my mental health and well-being is suffering and I may loose the house I want to purchase.
I would suggest anyone to avoid this branch as the treatment of me has been disgraceful and shocking.

WOW what a joke these are William H Clown. Massively over priced our property to get the work. Hassled us to lower the price shortly after. Promised to call back on 3 different days and never did. Made excuses as to why they could not do viewings at the weekend so I did these myself. WILL NEVER USE THESE CLOWNS ???? again

Phoned the Barnsley Branch twice to enquire about making an offer on a property just around the corner from ourselves and was promised a call back on both occasions. A month later and I am still waiting for the phone call and the property is still for sale. Needless to say I will not be phoning a third time. If you are trying to sell a property with this company and you aren't having any luck then this is probably why.

Handled the sale of our house. Was very honest and tactical in the approach to listing, got an offer at the top end of the price range after 3 days on market. Dealt predominantly with Karen, wonderfully positive person who couldn’t do enough for us. Would recommend the branch and her.

I called this company to enquire about a new build part exchange in Monkbretton. I was told I was the first to enquire and I needed to have a valuation on my property. They came and did the valuation and advised they would reserve me one of the two, 2 bed homes and meanwhile place my house on the market. I was slightly confused as to why my home was placed on the market before I could even view the new build and asked them a few times why this was. They never really answered me, just said they had to try and sell mine ASAP. I was awaiting a call to go and view the new build, when the mortgage advisor contacted to book an appointment for me to see her, I explained to her that it was a part exchange and I didn’t need to borrow, as my property was of the same price as the new build (so just move my mortgage over) she agreed in this case that I didn’t need to see her. But she mentioned that the plot I wanted had gone. I asked how this was possible and I was told the council had the last say and it was out of their hands. Not only was I gutted to hear this, but I was extremely frustrated that during my chemotherapy treatment I had dealt also with the stress of placing my house up for sale all on a false promise. I asked for a manager to call me about the situation and I waited 3 days with no call. So I called and had to leave a voicemail asking for them to cancel all viewings of my house and take it off the market. The whole process was an utter shambles! Do not recommend this estate agent at all. I do however recommend that they have some serious training on how to tell the truth and common decency. Absolutely ridiculous!
Please Also notice how the company have nothing to say about my negative review a year later…, but have lots to say on other people’s! Again confirming how wrong they are for this!

I’ve had a really good experience with William H Brown. They are really helpful and easy to contact when needed. When we got our property they welcomed us with a box with gifts! After a while of being in our new home they rang to make sure we was doing ok …they are really thoughtful regarding customers. Really nice agents. Would highly recommend

I just wanted to say how impressed I was with the service I have received from Karen at WH Brown. I am an Independent Mortgage Adviser and I spoke with Karen in relation to my clients who were first time buyers. Karen worked with me to help secure their offer. She was friendly, professional and really helpful. One thing that really impressed me was that when Karen found out I was acting for the clients she wasnt pushy or salesy in relation to their in house advisers. This is something I come across daily and it can make the experience less enjoyable for the clients, especially first time buyers. Karen's primary concern was to look after her vendors and my clients which is exactly how the process should be. Thank you! I look forward to working alongside you and for us to get my clients in to their lovely first home!
