I know someone who had to do their washing at a laundromat for 4 months because Peter Alan delayed repairing a washing machine. When they finally replaced it, it flooded the kitchen and left the property unusable for another few months. They offered her only £100 compensation for all this, which doesn't even cover the cleaning and laundry she had to do on her own. In my opinion Peter Alan is a terrible letting agency, with their dismissive and incompetent attitude towards tenants... Read more

This is an honest review of my experience with Peter Alan. I've been trying to help someone I know get compensation from Peter Alan, because they left her without a washing machine for months. When they finally replaced it, they dumped the old machine outside (leaving the tenant to deal with it - see attached photo) and they installed the new machine so badly it flooded her kitchen and a neighbouring flat. My friend had to pay to use a laundrette for many months because of this. Peter Alan has only offered £100 in compensation, and when we contacted them arguing that she was owed more, they were extremely rude to us. I hope things improve but at this moment I cannot recommend them as a letting agent, as I don't think they have their tenants' interests at heart.... Read more

If you want to witness a masterclass in giving tenants the run-around, Peter Alan is the place to go. It's just email after email telling you to go bother some other branch until you get sick of it and give up, and I wouldn't bother going in person to sort it out either; it's headless chickens in there, too. It shouldn't take a genius to understand that a flat should be deep cleaned BEFORE the tenant moves in, and that this is not a cost the tenant should pay, but again, nobody at Peter Alan knows how to be a letting agent. It shouldn't take a genius to know that a contractor should clean up after themselves, and not leave the flat in a *worse* condition than it started, but apparently this knowledge is simply beyond Peter Alan to comprehend.... Someone i know is renting from Peter Alan, and they left her without a working washing machine for months - when they finally replaced it, they dumped the old machine outside leaving her to deal with it, and the new machine was installed poorly, flooding her kitchen so badly that it leaked down to the property below. She had to pay to use a laundrette all those months, and the only compensation they've offered is £100, which doesn't come close to the costs she's had to swallow. Completely screwed over a mate of mine and just have to leave my honest opinion. Left them paying to get laundry done elsewhere as their washing machine was broken for over 4 months. They fly tipped it into the street and when they installed a new one, managed to balls that up and flooded the kitchen. No clue how they managed this as installing a washing machine isn't exactly rocket science. For all this they've only offered her £100... I'm sure the landlord insurance will pay them more than that for the screwed up kitchen! Completely rotten, be warned.... Read more

Paid the holding deposit and the estate agent Liam kept on blaming the referencing company for taking long but when I called them they said everything is fine and we went through we need to contact the estate agent which we did. He took forever to reply and no matter how many times I rant he never answered. Then replies 3 minutes before they close and tells me the referencing failed without giving me any explanation and now is failing to give me my holding deposit back and once again lying....
