I have recently (May 2022) ended a tenancy in a property I found via Kings Group Hackney. I am now unfortunately unable to retrieve my deposit as my landlady has apparently refused to give Kings Group permission to do so despite the fact that there are no issues whatsoever in terms of damage to the property or missing rent etc. The agent who originally dealt with me at the Hackney Branch has gone to ground and has not replied to a single e-mail I've sent regarding this situation (I believe he has moved to another nearby branch) Meanwhile Kings Group Head Office has been quite unhelpful, sending sporadic terse responses to my messages and providing little in the way of concrete help. I have been forced to open a case with the Tenancy Deposit Scheme but have no idea when this issue will be resolved. Please beware of the landlords Kings Group work with. I've learned the hard way some are quite unscrupulous and Kings Group will do very little to help if difficulties arise. If KG respond to this review I'm sure it will be along the lines of "we find tenants but do not manage this property" as they absolve themselves of all responsibility! UPDATE: Further to the comment from Kings Group below, the landlord has indeed agreed that Kings Group can release my deposit but to date their Accounts has not transferred this to me. I have asked for an update and received zero response. I was informed by the Tenancy Deposit Scheme that Kings Group assured them that I had received my deposit and the matter was closed but this is certainly not the case!... Read more
