Myself and partner went to view property last week first time using Northwood (Definitely be the last) we arrived at the property no agent there we waiting for over 10mins when the agent did show she didn't introduce herself if it wasn't for the Northwood car that she was driving we wouldn't have known who she was,, she walked right past like we didn't existing she entered the property where there was someone coming out of the property that just viewed it without agent been presented which I thought every strange , so we followed her into the property we are there was another couple along with ourselves viewing the property as we entered she just left us to wander around the property without even saying anything about the property she had her phone in her hand all the time and that's all that she was really seemed concerned about we were asking her questions and trying to have a laugh and joke but she wasn't having any of it and then we was told that tenat of the property was in the property while we was having a look at which I felt a little bit uncomfortable I have viewed lots of properties in the past and this is never been the case, overall we felt uncomfortable and very unhelpful by this agent we will not be using Northwood in the future due to this ..... For the majority of our tenancy, we had no issues with Northwood. The people we interacted with directly were friendly and problems were dealt with relatively quickly. The issues started at the end of our tenancy and were mostly caused by poor communication, as it seemed they just lost interest when they found out we wouldn't be staying with them.
Before moving out, we made sure to clean the flat to a high standard as requested by Northwood. We returned our keys before the end of our tenancy and expected the final inspection to be carried out on the day we moved as our paperwork stated should be the case. It wasn't until after we left that we were informed that although this is what the paperwork said, it was a blanket statement and that they would not do the inspection until the final day of our tenancy which was 12 days later. During this time, there were 3 more viewings where people walked around the flat, making the floors we had cleaned dirty again. As a result, we had to pay increased cleaning fees as they refused to move the inspection due to a technicality.
To their credit, the inspection was conducted on the day our tenancy should have ended. However, despite our paperwork also stating "If the tenant was unable to be present at the checkout inspection, inform them of the outcome of the inspection and any issues identified", we had to contact them 10 days later having not received any communication regarding this inspection. As a result, we ended up paying late fees on our utility bill as it took so long for them to get things sorted.
The long and short of it is - Northwood functions well as a business but they only do the bare minimum and only when it benefits them. Expect to have to chase them up frequently if you want to get anything done and don't expect fast replies, if at all.... Read more

Scott Morrison kept us informed at all times and arranged for work to be carried out when necessary. He ensured that all documentation was updated at the correct time and let me know exactly what was required. Email communication was first class - Scott usually replied the next day and certainly within two days. Northwood Estate Agents, (especially Ali Clark, who has gone above and beyond her role as agent) have been a God send in dealing with the sale of my deceased cousins flat in Dyce.
Ali has been a true professional from the first contact. As the executors, living in England, we weren’t able to travel to Dyce as often as we would have liked but Ali kept us informed of any and all changes relevant to the sale, even going in regularly to read the utility meters and liaising with our solicitors. I would avoid Northwood at all costs. As a landlord I am appalled at how Northwood in Aberdeen treat both landlords and tenants. I had tenants move into a flat 3 years ago who reported a issue on day one, it took Northwood 2 weeks to bring it to my attention. The same tenants brought to the attention of Northwood another issue in October last year it was brought to my attention on 23rd of January this year. Only when the tenant threatened to move out did Northwood decided to alert myself. As has always been the case once brought to my attention I rectified the issue very quickly however my tenants were left with NO hot water for 4 months through a cold Scottish winter. This is an absolute disgrace. Like indicated by some of the other reviews Northwood tend to send emails at the end of a day leaving tenants and landlords unable to do anything until the following day. This often happens on a Friday where you can’t do anything until the following Monday. Despite practically begging for a phone call if anything comes up Northwood have repeatedly opted to email at the end of a day. Having gone to the property for an annual safety check it was brought to my attention by the tenant that my flat had been flooded from the flat upstairs and have been left with water damage in the property. The tenants had contacted Northwood and had a response from Northwood but no one had ever passed the information to myself. When I asked the tenant when it had happened they showed me email correspondence between the tenant and Northwood and nearly 5 months had gone by since the incident and no one felt it important to pass on so I could put right the damage. I have now been left with no option but to pursue the complaints process, I have had to contact the property ombudsman to escalate this as Northwood Aberdeen seem incapable of doing the right thing. After having potentially the value of my property put at risk and my reputation damaged by Northwoods inadequacy they made quite frankly an insulting offer towards helping fix the issues. The 5 star reviews on here need to be investigated. There are clearly fake accounts (perhaps not all but definitely a few) propping up this score which is still not great. AVOID AVOID AVOID.... I stayed with Northwood Aberdeen for over 4 years as a private tenant and was extremely pleased with their outstanding service. They were highly professional from the start, efficiently handling everything from property viewings and the application process to securing my deposit. I had to leave the property because the landlord decided to sell it, but the letting agency notified me in advance and provided all necessary information promptly.
During my tenancy, they promptly addressed any flat issues, such as replacing a malfunctioning kitchen water heater. I also appreciated their discreet and respectful flat inspections.
I would like to express my gratitude to Scott Morrison, the Branch Manager, for his exceptional professionalism and outstanding communication. I always felt comfortable reaching out to him with any questions or concerns, as I knew he would respond promptly and provide a proper response in a timely manner.
Unfortunately, I had to switch to a different letting agency due to the aforementioned sale of the flat, and Northwood Aberdeen did not have a property available in the specific area of Aberdeen I was interested in. However, if the opportunity arises, I would be more than happy to switch back to them.
In summary, I highly recommend Northwood Aberdeen. Their responsive service and professionalism made my stay stress-free, and I cannot thank them enough for their excellent service.... Read more

Ali Clark at Northwood Aberdeen was absolutely fantastic with my flat purchase. As we are moving a very long way, Ali was always on hand to answer questions/check things out for us which made it very easy and smooth. Northwood also managed to squeeze in a second, end of the day, last minute viewing of the property before we travelled back home - I can't remember the girl's name who did this for us but she was also excellent. Northwood also gave me a cute little gift box with the keys including washing machine pods, fabric conditioner, hand sanitiser, cider, water and snacks. I highly recommend Northwood and I will be using them again when I need to rent/sell my new property!... Read more
