We had a great experience buying with Martyn Gerrard, Finchley Central branch. We found the staff, particularly Kyri, to be utterly dedicated to making sure the purchase went ahead and he offered us good advice throughout.
I would highly recommend avoid this agency if you can. Like most estate agencies, this one wasn't different. Took more than a month to get our deposit back after they deducted more than £130 for something that wasn't our fault. When we got a quote for less than half the quote they got - they didn't allow a "third party" contractor to do it for the tenants safety (which is weird, because if new tenants already live there, how come this is not fixed yet?) I was fed up with them by then and just wanted to get it over with so didn't argue. We had to chase them all the time otherwise we wouldn't hear back. During the two months before we left our phone rang non stop, during the weekend, early in the morning, sometimes 6 times in a row without even waiting a minute. They wanted to send people for viewing without an agent and us to do the agent's job and show people around. Took them ages to fix every tiniest thing. I would highly recommend avoid this agency if you can.

Had a great experience with the team at Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward, Finchley, really pleased! Kristina Economou in particular was exceptionally helpful - she was always really friendly and would go above and beyond to help out in any way possible - I felt so much more comfortable with the whole process because of her.
Not happy at all.
First of all they didn't care when we moved in if the flat was clean and tidy. We spent three days cleaning!.
Before moving in, they include a clause in the contract to pay in advance for everything, deposit, fees, inventory, but nothing when you leave. The deposit repaiment takes between 2 and five days when you leave....we asked to get it asap...and they answer like you need to read the contract...so anpolite..
They show the flat without advising previously the day they're getting in. And take pictures of private things that don't belong to the flat.
And the last is they charge you for references...
I have worked with Andrew at David Key Estates for over 3 years who handles the rentals for my portfolio of properties and I have been consistently extremely satisfied with his service. He takes instructions efficiently and gets on with the job of letting my properties at very good prices. He keeps me updated at every stage of the process and has always given me good advice regarding rentals achievable according to market conditions. He has always found me good reliable tenants and dealt with every aspect of the process - referencing, tenancy agreements, deposit registration, inventory and check outs professionally. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending him and his colleagues to landlords and tenants alike.
David Key advertised some good rental properties. Andrew Seemungal is the Senior Negotiator there and helped us close a contract for a price that was within our budget. Any problems Andrew was quick to ensure that they were resolved which made the experience easier as it can be quite stressful. For me the courtesy, honesty shown by Andrew is what prompts me to post this review.
We rented our flat through Portland and it was a very smooth process. We are 'inexperienced' renters and the whole process was much less stress and time-consuming then expected, Andrew was really helpful, particularly with finding a solution to some reference issues.
Even after notifying the agency that I am no longer looking for a property I kept receiving SMS messages. The messages were being sent with a sender ID "PortlandEA" saying at the end reply STOP to opt out - which doesn't work. I actually called the agency just now to ask again to be taken off the list and using the opportunity that I have someone on the phone I wanted to be helpful and explain to the rather unpleasant man that the way they are sending messages is not GDPR compliant (I work in communications industry) he just cut the conversation in the middle of my sentence. I will most certainly not be using the agency as they are clearly only nice to people that they can profit of in the short term run.
To the man from the phone: No, the "STOP" message will not magically arrive on your computer if you are using alphanumeric sender ID. You either use an actual phone number where people can respond directly or ad STOP + short code to where people can reply. You are welcome.
I have just started a lease secured through David Astburys and found the whole team really professional, friendly and responsive. They took negotiation very seriously and seem to have a good relationship with the landlords, and they believe in finding the right person for the tenancy and selling that to the landlord on your behalf, rather than just getting someone through the door for the sake of it. Although they aren't managing the property, their service extended into the aftercare once I was in the property. Thank you in particular to Nicholas, Yianni and Harriet throughout. Very happy in the property and highly recommend the team.
Aaron and the team have been excellent when helping us look for a new property and also in renting out our current property. They were very understanding and went out of their way to make sure our needs were met. Would definitely recommend to any one. Keep up the good work !
