I’ve been a landlord for 9 years and have avoided using agents because I thought it was a waste of money. I was proved wrong when I used DJ Alexander Let Service to find a tenant.
I was very satisfied with their professionalism and their communication was excellent. I was also given advice on what to upgrade to achieve a higher rent.
I dealt with Neill Bukes, Laura Mctaggart and Laura O’Donnell.
The turnaround from presenting the flat to finding a tenant was 8 days.
I also had the peace of mind the tenant went through a vetting process
I’ll be using DJ Alexander again for my other rental properties.
Do not take their clients concerns seriously. The door on our building was broken for months. We and several of our neighbors reported that many times. No problem solved. We even ended up with a situation that a drunk person entered into our building and lied down in front of our flat door. We were forced to call the police. Again no response from them. Thus, we decided to move out. The moving out was a different story - not only will they ignore your emails but they will give their best to rob you. And if you are lucky get their email response, it will be rude and Ill-mannered.
UPDATE: Their response here clearly demonstrates their professional ethics. I had the contract with DJ Alexander and not with anyone else. It was their responsibility to maintain the property or make adequate arrangements. It is clear form their response that they did not think it was their problem to look after the concerns of their tenants. Who cares if we had an incident in the building involving the emergency services due to the problem or that the tenants could not even unlock the entrance door to the building on several occasions. Nor did they think they had any responsibility to take any actions to solve the problem. They just conveniently pass the blame onto someone else. I would let the public make their interpretations just based on their response below. I recommend to avoid them at any cost
Chris is a breath of fresh air as an estate agent, open, honest and somebody you feel you can trust to do a good job and have your interests at heart. He was always available to discuss progress and chase things up when they seemed to be grinding to a halt. there were no hidden charges and no attempt to pull the wool over your eyes. I have two previous experiences with Glasgow estate agents and I would say Chris is in a different league.
We waited for months after we reported we have a mouse in the house until they sent someone.
We waited for months when we reported the lights don't work in the kitchen anymore. The list doesn't stop there...
I forgot a collectible item in the house during check out and I contacted them the next day, they confirmed they received my request to preserve the item so that a friend can pick it up.
3 weeks passed, no one updated me. I called them just to force an update out of them that the item was thrown away due to miscommunication.
Horrible handling of every serious issue we had.
When we were moving it after signing the contract we told them we're on hotel and each day matters, yet they took full 5 days to clean the apartment.
The person responsible for the handling of my sports item and for the delayed cleaning of the flat was Lee Hardy.
I have recently used them to let two flats. The whole process was very well managed, with lots of sound advice along the way.
I used Clyde Property to sell a flat in Edinburgh. Although they have only recently opened in Edinburgh, the process could not have gone better. Stuart Brown and Caroline Knowles in particular provided great advice and support and kept us updated all the way. Highly recommended.
From first contact to completion this has been a polished and professional service. Ben and the team at Savills worked very hard to ensure that all and any issues were dealt with and the sale went through as agreed. From now on we will only sell (and hopefully buy) thorough Savills.
Rod Leslie of Savills was not impressive when approached about potentially disposing of a commercial property.
I had been looking for several weeks and was becoming very tired of agents not getting back to calls and email and not showing up at viewings! Natalie was pleasant and professional throughout and provided a very personal service, always coming back to queries quickly.
Worst agency I have ever dealt with. Emma Haddow is totally useless, ignores all emails when we have queries and then chases us up acting as if we have never been in touch. Gave us only a few days notice of rent increase and has an extremely rude phone manner as well. Completely unprofessional agency and very difficult to deal with.
UPDATE 30/9/16 Emma Haddon once again has proven herself incapable of replying to an email (actually, incapable of replying to about 6 that my flatmate and I both sent regarding an urgent matter - whether or not our lease was being terminated the following week or not!). We were urgently seeking answers and got completely ignored, to then have our new tenancy agreement arrive in the post a couple of weeks later. An email could easily have been sent confirming what was happening with our move out date?? I then complained to Catriona Macaulay who, following the pattern of every other useless member of staff in the place, completely ignored me; so I followed up a week later asking for a response, to be totally ignored again. After a month I was at the end of my tether so I passed all of this on to Emma Fursman looking for a response. Surprise surprise, she has refused to acknowledge my email either! Emma Fursman's LinkedIn page states that she "focuses on a high quality service to landlords and tenants," which is one of the most laughable things I've ever heard. There is NO service to tenants at all, they could not give less of a damn! Yet funnily enough, when they want a response about something you get constantly harassed by both phone and email until you get back to them.
I would urge any tenants to avoid this absolute joke of an agency at all costs!
