Very Poor, unprofessional handling of our interest in a House to Let (that changed to a house for Sale). Displayed a complete lack of common courtesy i'm afraid !!!

Andrew Grant advertised a property in Alcester to Let (on behalf of a landlord who had previously been letting the property for some time) My wife and I arranged with Andrew Grant to view the property. After the viewing we advised Andrew Grant that we would be more than happy to rent the property should the landlord want to proceed with us. After a few calls and e-mails Andrew Grant advised that the Landlord was happy to proceed but would just need to complete some decoration work in the property. My wife and I foolishly started to pack but worringly no paperwork or date communication was forthcoming from Andrew Grant. We chased for updates and left messages, sent e-mails but response was poor except for Andrew Grant to once or twice say that the landlord was abroad and that they were waiting to talk to him to get some dates. This went on for nearly 2 months before we noticed that the house suddenly turned up on Rightmove via Andrew Grant as 'For Sale', which of course pretty much meant that we could assume it was no longer available to us 'To Let'

My wife and I of course appreciate that this sort of thing can happen, as landlords circumstances can change, but the point of the review is to convey the disppointment and grievance that we felt as we were seemingly lead up the garden path, kept in the dark for quite a while, with the ultimate insult from Andrew Grant being to show us a complete lack of respect, having never to this day communicated to us at all about the landlords change of mind and furthermore never to this day have we had any form of apology !!!

Julia Boehm and the Team at AG in Stratford have changed our previous experiences of estate agents. They have worked tirelessly in what has been a difficult market to get us the best price for our house. They continued to work throughout the sale process to make sure it progressed through to completion without too many issues. Vikki made sure that solicitors didn't get away with their usual laid back approach. The whole team were professional, great value and the photographs of our house were outstanding. Well done Julia Boehm you are a genius !

We just wanted to message you and your staff to say thank you so much for the politeness, kindness, helpfulness and advise you gave us throughout the whole process of selling our beloved house

It is always difficult to choose which estate agent to go for when selling any property as there are so many agents out there who all make the same promises and all have similar websites.

We are very pleased that we chose Andrew Grant!

When you came to the house on the initial visit you were very polite and professional and listened to our needs and hopes and we always felt that you had our needs as being paramount

You provided excellent feedback on the property and your instructions on how to market the house and at what price to market it, which was SPOT ON

You and your staff kept us informed of viewings and how things were progressing throughout and as you know it was not on the market very long with various offers received within the first 2 weeks of it going on the market through yourselves and the eventual selling price was what we wanted.

We are pleased that the selling process went through very quickly and can imagine how the new buyers are feeling as we understand it is their first home together. We feel sure that they will be as happy as we were in the house for many years to come.

Nowadays all agents can promote a house online and get lots of people to visit.

It’s at offer stage and beyond where the value of an agent becomes really important.

Andrew Grant acted on the sale of our house. I liked how Andrew Grant Stourbridge presented local properties and I felt a lot of confidence in Vicky’s advice on the local market. Her colleagues in the office Stephen and Rebecca were always very efficient and helpful.

Our sale became very complicated at exchange due to problems down the chain, and at times it felt like the sale would fall through. Vicky really impressed at this point, in her tenacity, judgement and negotiation skills. Without her intervention at several key stages, our sale/ purchase could have fallen through.

I would have no hesitation in recommending the Stourbridge branch of Andrew Grant to someone selling their property.

An excellent example of good old fashioned slimy estate agents, thankfully a dying breed now. Push their 'modern auction', which is actually just a way of tripling their fees. One particular agent lied to the vendor's solicitor, saying I had pulled out of a purchase when in fact I had refused to accept their change of sale type and demand of £5000 to proceed. I asked twice on the phone what this payment was, and he pretended not to know. Claimed that the massively increased agent's fee hadn't affected his advice to the vendor. Needless to say, their completion was held up as their next buyer took much longer than we did to exchange contracts, and I bet they didn't pay as much either! Only winners were Andrew Grant. Go elsewhere if you want an honest agent.

In response to your comment, you can ask the vendor's solicitor why they told my solicitor they thought I'd pulled out, and then ask Duncan Saunders why he has failed to respond to my request for him to deny that he said this. I find it hard to see sincerity in your offer to discuss, as you have my contact details. You obviously don't intend to do anything about this, just weak public platitudes in response to a negative review.
