John Bray & Sons - Hastings

72 High Street,Hastings

Very good Estate Agent specialising in older and Listed Buildings. Always a pleasure to deal with because of their personal service.

I used this lettings agents last year and I can honestly say I have never had such a terrible experience. The woman I dealt with was incredibly patronising and rude. Its a miracle they manage to get any business with their awful attitude. Stay clear.

Knight & Knoxley

5 George Street, Old Town, Hastings

Dealing with Knight & Knoxley was like night and day compared to our experience with other agents in Hastings. From the moment I spoke to Mark on the phone I could tell he was taking the time to understand the nuances of who we were and what we were looking for and that our journey down from London wouldn't be wasted. We were shown some truly remarkable properties, any one of which was worthy of serious consideration, but what we weren't prepared for was how much fun the process would be. Even during the sticky stages of negotiation, Mark had a way of taking the stress away and going above and beyond to be supportive in the process. As delighted as we are to have found a wonderful new home, we'll miss having an excuse to hang out with Mark!

*No heating instructions. *Boiler was broken and flat icy cold for 12 hours. Plumber came promptly once reported and fixed boiler. Good service thank you. *No electric kettle and No microwave *Hob-top kettle doesn’t whistle, easy to forget and could boil dry *Too much clutter in kitchen, no space for own food or to prepare food. 4 lemon squeezers, 7 saucepans and more than 10 big serving bowls, but no baking sheets or oven-safe dishes. Worried about breaking some of the lovely vintage china. *Outdoor chairs are broken and uncomfortable *Very comfortable bed, excellent linens and efficient electric blanket *Plentiful towels, toilet rolls and toiletries. Kitchen roll would be nice addition *Payment and key arrangements different from Booking.com listing. Not accepting credit cards is off-putting to many and should be stated up-front. Took nine days for deposit to be returned and I had to chase it *Maybe consider a small armchair upstairs for comfortable enjoyment of the south-facing views - something like an Ikea Poang which could also be easily taken on to the terrace as well. *Great to have hairdryer and straighteners in bedroom - thank you *Perhaps list all the amenities on the ad so people know not to bring them, eg toiletries, coffee makers, hairdryer, electric blanket

Patrick Oliver - Posk

31 West Hill Road, St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex 31 West Hill Road, St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex

A thoroughly positive experience with Gemma and her team of fantastic staff. She’s always contactable and deals with everything so efficiently. She showed such dedication to selling our home, and would always go above and beyond to help. More so she managed to put us at ease as the sale neared exchange. If you’re thinking of selling, we would really recommend giving them a call.

Avoid Avoid Avoid - She has basically left me homeless after sending the lease and deposit invoice the day before I was to move in and telling me she would accept a credit card payment as my deposit since I couldn't make the payment that day. She then changed her mind on Saturday morning, when none of the banks are open, asked for a further £525 pounds when I had already explained that I would then be paid on Friday. I managed to get the entirety of the deposit Saturday morning but she wouldn't return my phone calls or answer when I suggested that the move be delayed a few days so we could get everything together. This episode has cost me £1200+ pounds in expenses and lost work. I have a great relationship with my current landlord of three years. She had all of my reference checks and earnings history (which are more than suitable) yet chose to do display an utter disregard for someone when she herself was scrambling to get everything completed by the move in deadline. Luckily my current landlord has let me stay a few extra days to sort it out. Great to know there are still nice people in the world. Avoid - you don't want to deal with people like this. Would give zero stars if I could.
