Chancellor’s were alright . Their communication wasn’t that great at times . I had a person turn up at my doorstep for a viewing without me knowing about it.

This agent fees for letting are far more than the average with poor service in return! They told me my house has a tenant ready who’s willing to pay full price so that I take it off the market from a different agency - but then the tenant they had in mind backs out and they refuse to give me her deposit money. At the same time I lost a potential tenant from the other agency.
They try to cheat you on money. Every time they have tried to calculate what they owe me after the fee deduction has been wrong (this is at least 4 times) - lucky I don’t trust them so I check throughly every time.
They tell you they have found a tenant that wants a long term let like 3 years and the tenant wants to pay 6 months in advance, which they do for the first 6 months. After that the tenant says they can’t affird to pay 6 months advance instead they just want to pay 1 month in advance and will move out much earlier than expected. This has happened twice in a row. I think this is a trick, they must be telling tenants to do this so they can secure the property. They also make you feel tied in so for example if the tenant moves out earlier than expected and they usually take 1 year advance of fees, they make u feel like you need to re let through them which is in fact not true as you can’t be forced to do this and can report it to the property ombudsman. They have a lot of tactics like this to drain money out of you. The cleaning company they send over costs an extortionate amount and they never do a good job so don’t trust them!
The management team have never been proactive with getting rent or chasing rent. Sometimes they are late to pay me not through the fault of the tenant but through their own incompetencies and they refuse to pay me a late fee! The management team have made very awful mistakes such as doing a check in inventory for new tenants and after that arranging cleaners making the inventory useless - and no I didn’t get a refund for this. Their letting service is definitely poor and I do not recommend them unless you want to be rinsed out of money with an appalling experience! Please stay away from this company

Avoid them at all costs!
Their business model for advertising properties for sale is, go see the seller and convince them they can sell the house for a higher price than other estate agents as they have sold a lot in the area, win the business and then just a week and half later, get a team manager from the head office in Bracknell to lower the price as there are not enough viewings and it keeps going on and on. Don't be fooled by their proactiveness and speed to get you on the market, that's literally all they care about (The 1 star is for that). You will only get viewers who are never interested to spend anything close to what you have advertised it for, ending in receiving constant feedback from viewers saying 'They feel they could secure a property larger than your's at a better price'.
To top it all off, they managed to loose hold of our only buyer, who gave an offer, which we eventually accepted (on the same day) and we were being mis-guided by saying they couldn't get hold of the buyer, whereas we found out that Chancellors never followed up with our buyer, so he ended up buying few other properties, being an investor.
14 weeks into a 16 week contract with them, I felt this was just a waste of time and lodged a complaint with their Directors and to their head office and requested to stop all services for us, which they did eventually after another few round of email pestering. It has been more than 2 weeks now and I haven't heard anything back anything regarding the complaint, except for a complaint acknowledgement email and the head office saying they are 'investigating' call records.
Unless you have lots of time to spare and don't mind dressing up your house for viewers who will never make you an offer near to your asking price, as they are never intending to buy a house around that price, which I believe none of you would been keen on, stay away from them. Absolute cons!
PS: To put a contrast into the whole aspect, we ended up going with Bairstow Eves and they sold our house for 99% of the asking price and in just the third viewing. This is how quick things could have been done!

Still calling me after I moved house 3 years ago despite asking them to stop ringing me! Almost amounts to harassment. Use anyone but them!

Still having problems and nuisance calls. Tried to use the chat line to get them to stop and proves impossible. If you want to be pestered for the rest of your life, use Chancellors. Other wise stay well clear!!!!!!

This is a terrible company to avoid at all costs. I have periodically advertised a property to let through another agent and every time I am constantly pestered by people from this agent who miraculously have a queue of tenants who want to let my property. I have asked them repeatedly to stop calling me and they just continue to do so. They are unethical in their practices and a total nuisance. I would never ever use them based on my experience

I have been enormously impressed with Simon Capel's professionalism from the moment I met him. His energy, confidence and infectious enthusiasm, combined with obvious expertise are a very winning combination, and it was clear from the start that I could put my trust in him, and that he would work tirelessly on my behalf. Although he must be extremely busy, he has always made time to keep in constant touch with updates. I was very surprised with the speed at which my house was sold, and extremely grateful for Simon's sensitivity and concern that the time frame of moving out would be comfortable and advantageous for me. He did everything possible to make things work for all concerned, and it is clear that his genuine feelings for the well-being of others and his engaging personality are great assets in this hugely challenging, multi-faceted job.
