I have received a really good professional service from the sales manager Roberto Saraby. One of the better estate agents I have dealt with whilst looking for a property for my daughter. I walked into the Chancellors office to enquire about a bungalow on behalf of a family member i was met with a warm greeting from Roberto who was very welcoming. I explained I was looking for family and not myself he was very helpful giving me his business card as well as property details for the bungalow and similar properties in the area. I was impressed with his service and will defiantly be using him when I come to sell my own home in the future.

I recently used Anscombe in Totteridge to purchase my new property and was very very happy with the level of service I was given.
Oliver was superb throughout the whole purchasing process, and went above and beyond in order to make sure that everything went smoothly and efficiently. He was prompt in returning answers to any questions I had and was very helpful.
I cannot recommend the guys in the Totteridge branch enough. Keep up all the good work!

Terrible. I told the lady I was looking for a 2 bedroom flat as we are downsizing, to then have a load of emails with 3 bedroom properties outside the area. The lady also mentioned a property that I said I wouldn't be interested in. Then received an email saying I had booked a viewing? Then received a call to confirm the viewing after I had replied to the email saying I wasn't interested. Then I called to ask if I could arrange a viewing for a property listed on the website, to which the woman replied no we can't do that, and straight to okay thanks bye. So rude, I wouldn't recommend asking them for advice as you either get bombarded with properties you specifically said you wasn't interested in or a rude member of staff.

Don’t deal with them

I book an appointment to view a house in Newbury area , I travel from Bridgend just to see it , after I go to there office to do some paperwork then back home in Bridgend, after 1 hour they call me and told me someone else top up the price for 940£ ( on the market was 900£ ) and if I want to put more to take the house ...so I lose my time , spend money on the fuel for what ? Because they like to play like this. They should be called Action Estate Agency . Do not deal with them . Bad estates !!!!

The Newbury branch is the WORST estate agency I have ever dealt with. They have zero care for any tenants. And do all they can to prevent you obtaining your deposit back.

I accepted to live at one of their properties after I was told that the property would be professionally cleaned before I moved in. I told them that the flat was unfit to live in and that I had asthma so the flat needed to be cleaned. They assured me that the flat would be cleaned. When i returned at the start of my tenancy I found that the flat was still very unclean and began coughing uncontrollably. I had to get the flat cleaned personally, at great expense. The company said they'd do a second clean but this was two weeks into my tenancy. This showed a high level of disorganisation and a lack of etiquette from chancellors.

They often do not respond to emails, claiming that they are too busy.

I always pay rent on time and have been more than accommodating for their lack of professionalism.

They are now trying to prevent me from obtaining my deposit back at all costs and are trying to claim money on the problems I brought up with the company prior to accepting tenancy.

The carpets were filthy on arrival and there were iron marks on them. Val Smith did not record this but did record them after I left the property and is now trying to use this to stop me getting my deposit back!

DO NOT USE THIS ESTATE AGENCY.

This agent fees for letting are far more than the average with poor service in return! They told me my house has a tenant ready who’s willing to pay full price so that I take it off the market from a different agency - but then the tenant they had in mind backs out and they refuse to give me her deposit money. At the same time I lost a potential tenant from the other agency.
They try to cheat you on money. Every time they have tried to calculate what they owe me after the fee deduction has been wrong (this is at least 4 times) - lucky I don’t trust them so I check throughly every time.
They tell you they have found a tenant that wants a long term let like 3 years and the tenant wants to pay 6 months in advance, which they do for the first 6 months. After that the tenant says they can’t affird to pay 6 months advance instead they just want to pay 1 month in advance and will move out much earlier than expected. This has happened twice in a row. I think this is a trick, they must be telling tenants to do this so they can secure the property. They also make you feel tied in so for example if the tenant moves out earlier than expected and they usually take 1 year advance of fees, they make u feel like you need to re let through them which is in fact not true as you can’t be forced to do this and can report it to the property ombudsman. They have a lot of tactics like this to drain money out of you. The cleaning company they send over costs an extortionate amount and they never do a good job so don’t trust them!
The management team have never been proactive with getting rent or chasing rent. Sometimes they are late to pay me not through the fault of the tenant but through their own incompetencies and they refuse to pay me a late fee! The management team have made very awful mistakes such as doing a check in inventory for new tenants and after that arranging cleaners making the inventory useless - and no I didn’t get a refund for this. Their letting service is definitely poor and I do not recommend them unless you want to be rinsed out of money with an appalling experience! Please stay away from this company
