I would highly recommend Appleton lettings based on my personal experience with them in the Margate branch. Tobias was the one who was dealing with my property (one I wanted to rent) and he was extremely professional, friendly and helpful the whole way through. He got me and my partner moved into the house within two weeks of applying for it. We are so thankful we have been able to move there and are so pleased with the price etc. Diane was also very nice whenever I went into the office. From what I have seen in Margate of other letting agencies, these are the most professional and efficient. They don’t waste time or your money. I highly recommend them. I would definitely use them again in the future. Much better than the likes of Miles and Barr! Check Appleton’s out - you won’t be disappointed :-) Thanks so much to Tobias!... Read more

Turn up to a viewing and they dont even show. They send out a text confirmation for their clients but cant even sort out their own employees. They then refuse to come out for the viewing and can only apologise. Waste of time and effort.... Read more

I have been with Appleton letting for 40 years and I feel so ill treated in regards to changing over the management of my properties to another of the family. All that time I was charged more commission on my rental property than the others and yet I have been a loyal customer a great deal of time. I changed to another Appleton family letting agent who I had been with before and received good service in regards to the maintenance side. Unbeknownst to me these two brothers were in an argument not to do with me so Jason Appleton delayed my transfer to his brother and charged me a ridiculous fee of £1000 pound to transfer. I have known the mother, several aunties, and three sons for 40 years and have never been treated so poorly. Jason Appleton should be ashamed of how he treats his loyal customers. I will never do business with this company again and I will be sure to warn others.... Read more

Arrogant Owner (Jason Appleton). Shoddy business ethics, disputed with the DPS to keep a £650 deposit for rent that wasn't due. We were given 60 day notice to leave as owner had sold property. We were on a monthly rolling contract paid in arrears we left early but Jason Appleton applied to keep the whole deposit for unpaid rent. Basically this company exists to make money by any underhanded means possible to pay for luxuries like his Bentley Continental when those on the bread line have to suffer due to his immoral ethics and arrogant attitude to those he feels are beneath him. Horrible man, horrible company ... steer clear!... Read more

As a landlord I found these two extremely unhelpful. I would walk in the office smiling and be greeted (if you could call it that) by two very po faced men, sucked in cheeks and almost an arrogant non plus air about them. I did not receive a professional or personable service. Sorry but a smile might cut the black atmosphere created. As for putting down the phone this is outrageous if true I can certainly believe it to be so. You are both middle aged men in business not at school. Leave the game playing to the kids just be nice and dare I say it professional and why not push the boat and .....crack a smile.... Read more

Very dissappointed. Loved the property initially but there was a few defects, including some bare electric wires. Although appletons reassured us they would all be sorted before we moved in (looking back it almost feels like they just said what we wanted to hear so they could get our deposit). Unfortunately not all the defects were sorted out. Plus some of the plug sockets still don't work and we have lived their now for months. Very poor customer service; have fobbed us off alot, put the phone down on us now on 3 occasions and just say "oh sorry it must of cut out" when you confront them in person.( 2 different members of staff have hung up on us and reading the other reviews about them hanging up, I can only assume this is company policy). They also don't respond to emails. Getting anything sorted out, is painfully slow. My advice is dont use them, we wont be once our contract expires. As you are incorrect thinking we are a rival agent, I can only assume you are incorrect about the other reviews which you have said are rival agents.... Read more
