Latest Reviews for Ascend Properties - Manchester

Ascend were the perfect example of how not to run a property management company. The customer service was non existent.

Issues I've had include a lack of communication, it was difficult to understand where in the application and move in process I was.

Most of the issues I had have been resolved although I have reported numerous issues with building quality that have yet to be repaired such as a faulty boiler and the flooring lifting.

Since opening their leeds office things have improved marginally although it is noisy with quite a few noisy neighbours and dog waste not being cleaned up properly. Blocks B and C I imagine will be far better to live in.

Fantastic Bunch of Guys thanks for finding me my Apartment

Avoid at all costs whenever possible. Also, do not believe any of the good reviews that you see about them. These reviews are bribed. In the beginning they offered me £50 discount for a good review and in the end they thought it was a good idea to create an illusion as if the apartment was not in a good condition so they could take a nice bite from my deposit and (again) bribe for a good review.

1. At first they want you to sign the house/apartment release papers without you not seeing the apartment. In my case there was a water damage on the kitchen ceiling which was promised to get fixed before I move in. Luckily I did not sign the papers just to discover that the water damage was not fixed. I did sign the papers eventually when the damage was fixed as promised.
2. You also will receive a piece of paper which states that everything in the property is cleaned professionally. In my case, nothing in the apartment was clean.
3. Eventually you will discover that some stuff does not work in the property as it should. They have a great reporting system, but the problem is that most of the things you report will not get fixed. You keep on reporting until somebody comes who will say that actually that is not his job.
4. When you move out from the property then they see your deposit as a hefty bonus that they should try to trick away from you. In my case, the apartment was in about five times better shape than when received. Everything was clean, some walls painted and some stuff that did not work before worked again.
There is no words for describing my confused face when a 50 page report was provided me a few days later. That report included damages that were there before I moved in and pictures of microscopical dust particles. Fortunately I had anticipated from the beginning that there can be a case of massive idiots so photographed all the big or tiny damages that I could find in the apartment. After responding to their fraudulent report I thought that they will transfer the deposit asap, but no :)
A fella called my and we had about and hour or two long philosophical discussion about how used should a mattress look after one year of use.
5. In the end I gave them £100 for using their mattress (which looked actually more than ok) and for the microscopical dust particles in two or three location in the apartment. Below there is a picture how 'professionally clean' was the floor when I received the apartment.

This is just a short summary about my adventures with that particular firm. If you want to avoid spending a huge chunk of your time on completely pointless and idiotic discussions about the right usage ratio of mattresses, zero property management experience and guys/ladies with long money-hungry fingers then steer clear from this toxic firm.

Wouldn’t recommend this agency at all.
My partner and I have had a negative experience from start to finish.
There was lack of communication throughout, no one completes a task 100%, you just get passed on to someone else and they will create charges for literally anything.
Their willing to bribe you with refunding your own money in exchange for positive reviews which is why I don’t believe any of the reviews on here.
Overall we’re really happy to no longer have to put up with the stress this agency has caused.

The most awful experience. I was shown a property by Aaron months ago, I was assured it was a quiet property and you could not hear anything from pubs on adjacent street. I was mislead and lied to. Fiona would not sort my paperwork after I paid a month rent and deposit I could not get my keys from her. We agreed to 9:30am and the day before she left a voicemail saying she changed it to 4:30pm. Arriving at 9:15 no paperwork done and she was not in the office. I had to leave without my keys and go to work and cancel my moving van. That night I arrived at the apartment and witnessed two 'suspected' drug dealings outside the front door. I felt so unsafe. The complete first floor had an overwhelming smell of cannabis In the apartment the Yates bar from an adjacent street was unbearable. I expressed my concerns straight away to the property manager at 11pm and I could not sleep until 4am. I left the apartment that morning, I asked to change apartment building and was not told no. After emailing a variety of people and sending hospital records for neurological scan (the reason I need a quiet apartment). I was told if they find another tenant they will left me leave. I completely put my trust in this agent being from another country I was completely mislead about the area and the surroundings by Aaron. I stated in the Consumer Protection Act I would have never have choose this property if Aaron had been truthful. I was told I need a solicitor letter or a letter from citizen advice. I was shocked and disappointed how heartless they are I am still waiting for £1796 back from them.

Also all the positive reviews are because they demand a check in fee which is reduced if you leave a positive review.
