After buying my first property off BW, and previously renting through them, I thought it would be easier to sell with them as we had a good relationship and I knew the team pretty well. How wrong I was! In the couple of months we was on the market we has 3 viewings! The office never showed anyone round my home I was always asked to do it, viewings often cancelled and I was not told until I rang up after the time they where due! Emailed Dean with a few issues, never got a reply. I went with another estate agent (Keenans) who was a fraction of a price compared to BW who are so called 'best in the area' and my house sold within 2 weeks and I had over 15 viewings!... Read more

Recently purchased my new home in Tyldesley through this agent. They were honest, reliable and efficient. The purchase was relatively straight forward, didn't take too long and was a stress-free experience.
They did try to recommend their in-house solicitors (a company based in Leicester) that were almost double the price of the local firm I appointed instead. Their affiliated mortgage advisor also couldn't match or find a better deal I found myself by using First Direct. One needs to remember that estate agents receive additional income and commission from referrals that may not be best for the customer. That said, I didn't use the recommended solicitors and mortgage advisor and this didn't affect the purchase in any way (I've read horror stories about unscrupulous estate agents where this happens). It means a lot to know that this estate agent are honest.
Overall, Balmer Wilcock are a good company and they have helped put my faith into an industry that has a bad reputation.... Read more

Amazing and extremely efficient service. Balmer Wilcock sold my bungalow with record time. Before instructing this gent I had very stressful time with another very dishonest and careless local agent who only cared to get my signature on 16 weeks binding contract and imposed heavy penalty for cancelling. With my previous agent, they did very few viewings at start then all sopped. After the 16 weeks ended I called Balmer Wilcock and spoke with Dean (the branch manager) to revalue my property. Dean advised not to reduce the previous valuation and was extremely confident and efficient in advertising the property, there was no binding period and no penalties. This agent works unconditionally, that shows how sure they are of the quality of their service. Within less than 48 hrs the board was up, property is online and viewings started immediately within the same week. Balmer Wilcock team did so many viewing I lost count and an offer came very soon after. Dean negotiated the offer to get the best price for us and helped us with valuable recommendations in finding a very good Solicitor. All done now Great staff and great work... Read more
