Bad service from start to finish. They made us HOMELESS by not working the chain properly. The solicitors they 'recommended' we awful too. Would not use these people again to sell my house, nor would I buy a house from them. A bunch of useless money grabbers. DO NOT USE!!!!!!

This is the third time we've used William H Brown to buy/sell. We initially invited 2 other estate agents for this latest sale. The man from William H Brown was head and shoulders above the other 2 who came to see us. Why did we even bother asking 2 others? We completed our sale and everything has been swift, friendly, efficient and personable. Can't recommend them highly enough.

I recently used William Brown Selby to sell my house. It was unquestionably the worst decision I have ever made. From the second I signed up with them the level of incompetence and lethargy was palpable. They essentially did absolutely nothing to represent my property in a positive light in terms of photos and description (I effectively wrote that myself). After that the allocated 'professional' who was supposed to look after the sale clearly didn't have a clue what was going on and nor did he appear to care. Ultimately I did manage to sell my property but that was purely through working directly with my buyer to overcome all the little issues that come up. William Brown did absolutely nothing throughout the process except blatantly lie about various things when I challenged them. I did complain and my complaint was initially looked at by the area manager who neither contacted me about my issues or responded to my later mails. Suffice to say his investigation was poor and in various areas just plainly wrong which I was able to prove. If that is the area manager it is no wonder the individual branches are poor. I continued with my complaint and did speak to someone who although a more professional person didn't really give me any adequate redress. Ultimately they say all that actually do is market your property and nothing else which basically means putting it on right move and seeing if it sells. All in all absolutely avoid William Brownin Selby and to be honest high street estate agents don't really add anything to the process except charge a ridiculous amount of money for the privilege. Instead look to one of the many online estate agents who will get your property marketed on right move, which is pretty much all you need to be on, and charge a reasonable amount of money. All the rest you can do far better yourself.
