TENANTS BEWARE !. Believe it or not, I am a Landlord complaining about Druce's treatment of our tenants ! Throughout the years we have encountered nothing but problems with Druce. They have very high turnover, have resorted to using recruiting companies to replace all the employees that are leaving. We have had countless Property Managers ( if you can call them that ). On occasion we complained to Neil McGimpsey the UK MD and Neal Verman who is the Chief Legal Compliance officer. and Rob Swann , Area Director, (Chelsea Office). I can only say that complaining to them is like to complaining to a brick wall. They could care less. On this occasion our former tenants vacated the property and left it in good condition. On Thursday the 6th of September at 8.30 Druce was instructed by us to issue a 100% refund immediately. On the 24th of September our tenant wrote me an urgent note stating that they had still not received their deposit. We have issued a complaint to the Property Ombudsman regarding other financial impropieties which are currently being investigated. we immediately wrote to the Property Ombudsman, the MD of Druce, office of Fair Trading Standards and a few more. That got their attention as they IMMEDIATELY informed me that it was a Sort Code Issue and they would make the payment today. ( Odd that it took them 17 days to resolve a sort code issue???? Hmmmm....I'm sure they were telling me the truth.) So if you are a tenant, be very careful who you give your deposit to. I would suggest someone other than Druce. Of course it's your choice.... I have good reason not to trust this outfit. Any Landlord or tenant should stay very clear unless you want to get DRUCED. They say, (see their response below), that customer service is vitally important to them. Their lunch break is even more important. After an excuse, never an apology, it is back to the most pathetic, inept , misleading, inexperienced and unhelpful "service"you can possibly imagine.Their mid-level and senior management are in my opinion very very weak and not experienced enough to know how to grow a successful business. I suspect that their Thai owner will soon tire of this ill-fated investment and they will merge or be acquired by someone else. I have had 9 Property Managers in 3 years and 3 Heads of Lettings and 2 Directors of Lettings and Property Management. Why you might ask? They all leave. One former employee described the work environment as toxic. Given the treatment I have received , I would have to agree. Why the turnover? Perhaps weak HR management at the very top?? According to a Gallup study of one million workers, 75% of employees quit their jobs because of bad bosses. Given my experience with Druce leadership, that is my bet. In May, I received a call from Emil Dimitrov telling me that as a Landlord living overseas they were going to withhold base rate tax for HMRC. I told him they had been doing this for us for the past 10 years and that I was confused as to why he would call. 'Ïts just a courtesy call" Emil said. Being very suspicious of this outfit, I asked him to follow up in writing. He did. What Emil had NOT mentioned on the call :They were going to start charging £600.00 a year for this "service". I replied that under no circumstances were they to do this. My contract with them is clear that this is a service they provide and that no changes can be made without 3 months notice. THEY DID THE OPPOSITE!!! NOT ONLY did they apply this charge RETROACTIVELY back to January of this year...(their call and email were both dated on May 20 and 21) they added salt to the wound : they upped the fee to £1,440 a year a 140% increase !!(SOFTWARE ISSUE ,NO APOLOGY) over the amount they had stated in May. I called the former Head of Property Management ( I think she survived a little more than a year). She DRUCED me…. No reply. When they realised they were WRONG AGAIN, their Director of Sales and Lettings, (ex Foxtons) told me they were refunding the charges. He claimed it was a confusion and "miscommunication" . I wrote back and told him there was no confusion and no miscommunication. Druce told me they were going to charge me and I told them not to, plain and simple. I asked him for a written apology and an assurance they would ensure that they had not falsely charged other landlords. DRUCED again. As a result of the number of times I have received no response from these rude people, I have coined a new phrase “ DRUCED” . I have left several messages for their Managing Director ( new boy exFoxton’s) never got a reply. Sent him emails. Never got a reply. DRUCED again. It is interesting that another awful review by Sam H mentions that he had to use LinkedIn to get a hold of him. I uncovered several overcharges by them, "Software issue" was the EXCUSE, NO APOLOGY, suspect they would never have corrected them without my questioning. I asked their Area Director for an apology. You guessed right….DRUCED again.They lost my keys. They admit it. I requested new locks. Who wouldn’t? Their Chief Compliance Officer, formerly Chestertons HR Manager, Neal Verman offered to pay for a new set of keys AS A GESTURE OF GOODWILL! I kid you not. Keys in their care which I pay them to protect and they offer to replace them as a Gesture of Goodwill !!!!!!!????????God knows whose criminal hands my keys are in ! Bad news for all ….. they have plans to open an office in Fulham before the end of the year. Don't worry they won't be around for long. They will destroy a hard earned reputation in the blink of an eye.... Read more

RENTERS BE WARNED. We rented from Druce for 2 years and ended the tenancy recently. Notwithstanding that teams are busy, the process of reclaiming the deposit was horrendous and showcased total incompetency and lack of professionalism. From the point of agreement around the amounts being deducted (I won't even go near the £180 fire alarm discussion.....), over the course of 10 days we were met with silence and our emails were ignored. It took me to engage their CEO on LinkedIn who was professional and engaged swiftly. I won't use this opportunity to name the individuals involved since I see no benefit here.... Read more
