Andre not only found me the ideal property on first viewing (when does that happen??) after taking all my details and ONLY showing me a property that fitted my criteria unlike other agents I have deal with - which both becomes frustrating and a waste of everyone's time viewing flats that are not suitable or fit your requirements - he has, and continues to be, an excellent communicator, handler of the landlord and my requests and a genuinely nice person to be dealing with. He's exceptional. Carla has also been very diligent and efficient in getting documentation and contracts sorted and remains a good point of contact. Thanks to both of you. - JS
Complete inflexibility to modify even the most basic terms in rental agreement. Very high admin and background checking fees for templates that can be downloaded free from the internet. Terrible experience as a tenant, can only recommend to stay away from this company and deal directly with the landlord or use online agents where possible.
I've used Peach properties for lettings and so far they have done a tremendous job... thanks to Sam for all his help and maintaining utmost professionalism throughout the process. I would highly recommend anyone to use their service. Keep up the great work!
Let a property to me knowing that that pipes were leaking in the flat and that renovations were due to happen during the tenancy but failed to mention the extent of those repairs. They were never in the office when needed and as things went sour with the landlord (who was also absentee) due to the issues around their contractors and the landlords insurance problems, they were unavailable. Worst 6 months of my life was spent in a flat let by this crew.
I am quite happy with how Hastings helped me out in finding new flat. Me and my girlfriend were look after by Luke Hewens. I must say Luke was very professional and helped us with all our questions. I would recommend Hastings and Luke as your agent.
This was our local branch of the estate agent that was actually a very good branch and relatively friendly. Unfortunately as a tenant you should be aware that a lot of the time you will be dealing with their main office which is absolutely abysmal. My review that I have posted on that office address is below. If you see your dream property accompanied by one of the nice local branch teams, I'd strongly recommending going elsewhere as they are the most unprofessional team that will ignore you unless its about paying them a fee. our property was in Harper Road and we left recently for reference. I'm not interested in being contacted by Hastings about this review as we are now lodging a formal complaint with Property Ombudsman.
Without a doubt the worst experience I've ever had in 12 years of living in rental accommodation. This isn't my local branch but most of the problems we had were with the central office who processed our contract and still have not returned our deposit 3 months after vacating our property. I dealt with Mark who was rude but did answer some emails and Denise who was rarely available but polite when she was during my tenancy.
The main problem is that we have not been contacted since August 3rd by Hastings in relation to returning our deposit. They have also failed to respond to the DPS as well over the last two weeks. We have agreed to have our deposit returned in full, the simple problem is nobody at hastings has done anything or even responded to us.
Additional to this we have had the following problems.
Agreed a new fridge as part of a new contract which was never installed
Constant issues with our tenancy agreement when changing names that was time consuming.
Inflated fees for references at end of tenancy £60 each so £180 for 3 people.
Being asked to do the comparison of our original inventory to our exit inventory ourselves and highlight it for them after paying above average admin fees.
constantly having to ask again and again via email to get a response on multiple issues.
Rude emails from staff.
The landlady who used this agency changed the property over to someone else and called me to apologise for using them as they were so so bad.
We are now taking to the dps to be resolved and lodging a formal complaint.
Don't be suckered in by the local teams being nice and friendly for most part they were and they sorted out routine items, but the main management team that handles contracts and other items are so so bad you will have a terrible time renting from this agency.
I recently needed some advice regarding what to do with one of my buy to lets in Hackney Central regarding the 3% stamp duty increase in April. Mr Chris Manderson was extremely helpful as he was very knowledgeable about the impact this will have on my situation. I went into the branch with mixed feelings about Foxtons, I was told they were extremely aggressive and to stay well clear of them. I saw an element of that but only in the right areas, after speaking to Mr Manderson I was 100% positive that they will get the job done and to the highest standard. I would highly recommend giving Foxtons my business and when I am ready the first person I will be calling will be Mr Manderson.
Agreed to work with Foxtons for the sale of my property. I suggested an Open Day to which they said it would probably not generate enough people through the door. A few weeks after the property went on the market Foxtons suggested a reduction in asking price by 200k, reason - because of Brexit. Once that is done, still very few viewings and another reduction in asking price suggested. Realised they were all talk and did not seem to know what they were doing so dropped them as fast as I could, went to another estate agent had an Open Day with 7 couples through the door and 3 offers and got what I wanted.
Courtneys were brilliant from start to finish. We were really pleased with their friendly, helpful and efficient approach.
I have called them a few times after 6 rings or so a robotic lady takes my details and tells me someone will call me back. This never happens, I was very interested in a property that has now possibly been let. I missed a couple of properties due to complete silence. I live locally and I decided to visit the agency to find out why my calls were not being answered. As i walked in there was a pungent smell of damp mixed with what only I could sense something dead. I saw a lady there (the only one present), she continued to type away as I was walking in and greeted me. I asked her where everyone was she replied they are out on views. I looked around, this let me to believe there was only her and one other person in the office. Few days later I walked past again and only the same lady and one man were there (I walked past many times). How can an agency be ran by just two people this is mind boggling, explains why my calls were never returned , they don't have the man power, how do they manage properties between themselves?
I had a great experience dealing with Rayners, you guys are undoubtfully a high standard estate agency, the best value for money. Excellent service, always reactive, helpful and human too. Quite a good family business you should legitimately be proud of. Would definitely recommend !
Being a tenant for the same property several different times, Rayner have been mostly friendly, helpful and understanding. They have been in the area for a while and know good things in and about.
