PROS:
The start of our dealings with Balmforth was great. Cayley went above and beyond to assist with my partner and I in viewing the house we will be moving in to. She agreed to meet us after official work hours so we could still get a chance at viewing the house. Cayley was excellent at showing us around the house and making sure we were happy with what we had seen. She was incredibly friendly.
CONS:
The communication is terrible. As someone who is moving into their own property for the first time, there are a fair amount of questions in which we email across as both my partner and I work in between Balmforth's opening hours so cannot call. The responses to our questions can take days - sometimes we don't get a response so we are still in the dark about some stuff.
There is no acknowledgement of the emails being received or that our queries are being looked into.
If the communication was sorted out and responses were a bit quicker, the customer service would be much better.

Terrible customer service. The lady on the phone was just ignorant. Had been booked in for a viewing that they changed the time of twice. After the 3rd change which made it an hour earlier than the original we said we'd be there as quickly as we could- but would probably be about 10mins later as was coming straight from work, about an hour away.
They agreed that this was fine and said we would just have to have a quicker viewing- no problem. We arrived 5 mins later than the allocated time- but still earlier than we said. The person showing us around had already left- no phone call or anything to ask if we were nearby and refused to come back to show us around.
The lady on the phone was even worse and outright rude saying it was our fault and they couldn't book us for a viewing for at least another week- by which time it would most likely have sold and so we had a 2 hour drive and had to leave work early for nothing. It's a shame because we were planning on offering substantially over the asking price after the viewing but will definitely not be buying with them anymore.
Definitely avoid as a buyer or seller.

Contacted the Haverhill branch with regards to my property search and asked to be added to the mailing list. Unfortunately, we ended up buying with another agent but Jodie always letting me know of the new properties before hitting Rightmove. We had a great customer experience from the branch! Thanks

We can't speak highly enough of the professional service we received from Balmforth Estate Agents (in particular Jodie Miller). From the initial viewings through to exchange and completion we have been kept informed and updated. Bookings were well organised and the viewees were carefully vetted. Communication was excellent and never a problem, we were always updated with the latest news (good or bad).
If you are looking for an estate agent with great local knowledge, excellent communication skills and a local agent to buy or sell your house I would thoroughly recommend Balmforth Estate Agents.
