Absolutely shocking attitude. I am moving to Scotland from a different part of UK so I have scheduled viewings for a few days ahead. Castlebrae did not even bother to tell me that the properties are gonne knowing very well I have to fly over to attend the viewings. Slip up can happen so I remained calmed and asked about other properties in the area to which no one bothered to respond. No communication whatsoever and the lady on a phone was quite rude when I was scheduling the initial viewings. If this is how they treat new possible customers, I do not even wanna imagine how they treat their tenants.

Changed my viewing date twice then told me on the day of my viewing that it wouldn't be possible and if I could change it back to my original date after already having moved a hospital appointment! Considering their job is putting renters in touch with landlords they're not very good at it

I recently secured my first property as a tenant and I cannot praise Pamela, Beth, and all the team (sorry for those who's names I forgot, you were all amazing) for the time and effort.

I had contacted all the local agencies in West Lothian and Castlebrae were the only agency who came back with enthusiasm and followed this up with excellent communications.

In the past, I have found renting properties an arduous task. I am pleased to say I have found someone who is making it as easy as possible.

Castlebrae have exceeded all my expectations from first point of contact in viewing a property, negotiating the purchase from overseas and managing the letting process in our absence upon completion.
Alistair McMurdo handled what could have been a nightmare sell/purchase scenario (with the vendors in the USA and us as buyers in Australia) with absolute professionalism and aplomb.
Having had properties managed in the past in London and Sydney, I can say with hand on heart that Castlebrae is by far the best company I have had dealings with. They are almost frighteningly efficient. A big shout out to the property management team for looking after everything so well. They really are stars.
If you want a company with integrity to either sell or manage your property, look no further!

As a landlord for 15 years one of the best companies I have worked with.

A shame to see people writing inaccurate reviews as below. Deposit disputes always get reviewed by an outside body and Castlebrae have always been the most professional in my dealings.

Rather than whine, I'll just state some facts:

- The deduction from our deposit for cleaning the house was the equivalent of the living wage for one person for an entire 40 hour week. We vacuumed and gave it a once-over before leaving. We did not leave the house in such a poor state. One day for any cleaner would more than have covered it.

- We paid a gardener plus two assistants for a full morning's work on the garden during our last few days. Castlebrae then billed us a further £50 for unexplained 'gardening work'.

- When trying to return the keys to them, they refused to collect them from the house. As they could let themselves in without a problem, there was no reason to refuse this request. This meant I had to drive 30 miles during the following working day from the new house to hand-deliver them.

- We had one particularly heavy item that we struggled to transport on the final day due to the moving company cancelling the uplift. We requested to have this one single item uplifted early morning the day after. They blankly refused. We had to pay an additional £100 to get this uplifted with no notice as a result.

- On one occassion, they attempted to arrange an inspection without our consent, without the notice period stipulated in their own contract, for the very next morning. I had to call the emergency number as we only read the email after their office was shut. I was told I should not have called this number, despite there being no other way to notify them that an inspection was not suitable.

Did not give us our inventory when we moved in, did not give us our quarterly inspection report after being asked twice, and would not send round a qualified heating engineer to fix our boiler so we did not have heating for 2 months this winter which ultimately made us decide to leave our rented accommodation and find some elsewhere. This was completely 100% due to the service we received from Castlebrae. Agents were rude in their correspondence and even sent us official documents for someone else's property!
