I have rented across multiple properties in SW London over the past 6 years with a variety of high street letting agents. I recently had the pleasure of dealing with Dolce Vita and must say wow what a big difference compared to the rest - a personal touch, not bounced around different individuals offering properties in areas you specifically said you didn't want but as important the communication was always responsive and pro-active. Worth also mentioning that their marketing is very high quality photos/videos compared to the others. An easygoing relaxed team that you don't pressure you into a sale. Shocking service. Do not trust your property with them. They even failed to carry out the legally required safety checks before renting the property, leaving me open to significant liability. Further, their contractor, who is supposedly vetted for quality, did an appalling, unprofessional paint job – he did not cut in once (see photo below). Century 21 refused all responsibility for the work, stating that I needed to resolve it with the contractor myself, that they would have nothing to do with it. It turns out that Century 21 do not check their contractors – they don't even check to see if they have insurance. Even CheckaTrade ensures that. You would be better randomly selecting a tradesman than going with the one Century 21 recommend. I only stayed with them for 2 months, but they failed to complete any of the management duties required – in 2 months, they couldn't even organise the simple repair of an oven that was still in warranty, and that is just the beginning. Finally, because I continued to insist that Century 21 look to rectify the works they had done poorly and actually perform the management duties required, they terminated the management contract with only 3 weeks’ notice (in breach of their contact, which states 3 months’ notice required), leaving me high and dry. I did, however, find a new agency, and within 2 weeks, the countless outstanding issues were resolved, and the legally required safety checks put in place. That is what management should be like. Century 21 breached their terms and conditions multiple times over and I am truly appalled with the poor service they offered.... Read more

Working with agents as a property lawyer can sometimes be one of the least enjoyable parts of the job, especially when their sole concern seems to be earning commission. Fortunately, Century 21 are nothing short of great to work with and a million miles from your average agency. They understand the market and their advice is realistic and fair. I have personally worked with Jeremy Owen on a number of transactions and he has been a breath of fresh air from day one. Personable, professional, down to earth and efficient. He's great with his clients and I've rarely met an agent who is accessible around the clock. The team will go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure all parties are satisfied. I've been extremely impressed with Hanane at Century 21 in Putney. Myself and a friend have just this week completed on a property in the South of France, and having not bought in France before we required a lot of guidance and help. Hanane provided that from the very outset, introducing us to local agents, arranging viewings, following up afterward and so forth. As the purchase progressed, she provided us with explanations of how the process worked, guiding us through it perfectly as well as introducing us to an excellent notaire, mortgage broker and lettings agent. She has even helped us with recommendations with things like broadband suppliers and where to buy cutlery. She has been awesome, and integral to the whole process.
