Very polite and helpful people. I have used their services 3 times as a tenant. 10x times better than any other estate agency I have been to. While their fees are not the lowest in the industry still you can count on them to be fair and I am sure they will not rip you off.... Read more

Me and my housemates Seeked a property and it was a great one. The agency was always happy to help but still not over bearing how some estate agents can be. The agent we dealt with was very easy to speak to and understanding when I alone wanted to leave the tenancy. Highly recommend the agency. Preferably Speak with Marc Lee :)... Read more

I used Chess Estates to rent my last property. I found them amazingly helpful and they sided with me when the landlord was treating us unfairly. I found this to be very honourable as most agents would side with the landlord regardless. Thank you Chess!... Read more

Disgusting. We used them as our agents as first year students. We had been complaining about problems for months, particularly the damp in the property, which they hid very well with paint during the viewing! The damp appears within the first week, but they argued that it was us for the entire tenancy. When they came to assess the damages, paul let himself into our flat (3 girls) without warning, with a workman. I was in my dressing gown! Absolute creep. So unprofessional... Read more

In my opinion I would avoid this agency. I personally found the way they do business rude and unprofessional. Myself and my previous housemates (all who were female students) had problems with our deposit. One of the agents raised his voice to me on the phone and refused to try and resolve issues over the phone. They threatened us with court action after stating that we 'trashed' our property and tried to prevent us from taking our case to the Tenancy Desposit Scheme. We had lots of evidence that proved our points and successfully won our case. We took our case to the TDS and the agency received £133 instead of the £1800 they tried to take from us. The property we were renting had a lot of damages when we moved in and was not cleaned when we moved in. Instead they just wrote us a letter apologising for the property not being cleaned on arrival. I'm so glad we got our money back in the end. We could have been £1800 poorer. I am glad we contested against their threat of court action. I would advise others to avoid this agency in my opinion. My experience with them was not good at all.... Read more
