Pictures of the flats online and seeing the flats at a surface level during viewings may lure you into false sense of security but don't be fooled! As soon as we signed the tenancy agreement, we had an awful experience with the estate agents. (Also watch out for some of the 5 star reviews - they're pretend ones from people who work at the estate agents). Estate agents were consistently rude and argumentative, didn't believe us when we reported any issues, would often not respond to emails or phone calls, and would take weeks/months to fix major issues, for example... Front door to property didn't lock when we moved in, someone was staying in the foyer, and equipment had been stolen from bikes. It took over a month of phone calls and emails for it to be repaired, and then the lock broke multiple times again. The door was then smashed for over a month towards the end of our tenancy. Taps and showers didn't work 50% of the time/cut out half way through showers/cooking etc. Took 6 weeks to be repaired. Balcony door didn't lock when we moved in, took 2 weeks to repair. The flat was filthy when we moved in, a lot of furniture was broken and we had no inventory. Most of this furniture remained broken throughout the tenancy because noone ever came to repair things. The other flats in the block had similar issues, including one flat that often had very bad leaks.... Read more

There was an abusive English girl at the flat who even attacked physically a partner of one of the flatmates. 4 people had to move out because of her and the misery she created for all other tenants and the agency didn't care and ignored multiple complaints. All of the other tenants were not English. Apparently the agency cares only about their kind.... Read more

The room is nice, but the agency iself? Appalling. False advertising their properties, being very unresponsive and unhelpful when it comes to communication and scheduling repairs. Pretty much all friendly/professional communication ends once you sign the contract. They do not give any notice before doing the viewings, neither do they send e-mails about new people possibly moving in. They are very aware of how the Redress Scheme works, and they use it to their adventage - even if you do report them, they take their sweet time to reply to anything, and leave you in the dark for entire 8 weeks, and only then you're able to formally contact the scheme about the incident. I should have looked at the reviews on here before signing, and yet I did not - my mistake. Would never sign with them knowing the hassle that follows. Please avoid this agency. I know I will not be staying with them past the stated length of my contract.... Read more

Agree with all the bad reviews here. Our experience as tenants with citiquays was really poor and it seems now that it’s the same pattern of behaviour. We were what we would consider “good” tenants - we always reported any issues straight away, we were clean and responsible, paid rent on time, and we were very professional in our correspondence. Citiquays on the other hand were just hopeless. Where to begin? There were several maintenance issues in the flat when we moved in that were never fixed across our tenancy - including a faulty dishwasher, a broken window, cracked skirting boards, and our favourite: a light in the living room which wasn’t connected to a switch- there was just live electricity running the whole time so we couldn’t keep a bulb in there. Not attending to these was a blatant contract breach but there was just no care-factor at all. When we moved in, we didn’t receive an inventory and didn’t have any check-in process. We were told that the gas and power was set up - it was a nice (cold) surprise to find out that it wasn’t. We were told that the council had been informed of our move and had our details - they didn’t. A council worker arrived at our property unannounced one evening soon after we moved in asking why there hadn’t been any council tax paid for months. Throughout the tenancy, citiquays were difficult to contact - we soon realised they wouldn’t pick up phone calls from our mobiles. When we did manage to contact them they often rudely hung up the phone.Their emails were littered with typos and very unresponsive. When we eventually moved out, getting back the deposit was a nightmare. They were obliged to pay within 10 days, it took 6 weeks. They tried to deduct a £100+ “cleaning fee” but wouldn’t provide any invoices when we asked. They then tried to tell us that the alleged cleaners were only sent in to clean up “random” belongings left behind in the kitchen. When we told them that we hadn’t left anything behind that belonged to us, we got no response (because of course, there was no inventory). After lodging a dispute with the deposit scheme as we had no other option, we suddenly got our deposit back with no explanation. The ignorance and unprofessionalism was astounding. Honestly - we never had huge expectations considering how bad some agents in London can be, but the bar really is set low here. We were good tenants, but these agents couldn’t even do the most basic of jobs. Very disappointed. C'est la vie. Hopefully they pick up their game after all these bad reviews but I doubt it.... Received the flat in a poor state and communication with agents when presenting with faults was incredibly slow. Rude attitude and behaviour towards clients. For example, I overpaid the first month's rent so I rectified the balance on the last payment and these agents called me immediately on the same day angry and condescending. After calmly explaining the situation they didn't even apologise for their behaviour. Citi Quays are run by punks with limited skills in mathematics and when it comes to money they will respond immediately, anything else, especially your needs is not their job.... Read more

I used this agent when I was a student at QMUL. They were nice enough prior to signing tenancy agreement but the problems started from there on. Communication was very poor and unprofessional. Repairs weren’t seen as a priority and they were generally very unhelpful. At the time I contacted QMUL accommodation services to let them know about my experiences with this agent and was told that the university were very much aware of their poor reputation, hence why they are not recommended as an agent students should consider using. I would not recommend this agent in the slightest.... Read more

I do not recommend Citiquays. During my time with them, they were unprofessional and had a complete lack of respect for tenants once we had signed the tenancy agreement. We had problems with the flat as soon as we got in, with the oven not working. The flat wasn’t even properly cleaned but as reasonable people cleaned it ourselves. We also had problems with the plumbing and leaking pipes that caused the roof of the living room to swell up, we contacted them multiple times about this and was only taken care off 3 months after the initial complaint. Debbie and Gemma both have incredibly poor communication skills, not answering phone calls or emails and if they do answer emails, it would be to an appalling standard. Please think twice before renting with Citiquays. Thank you.... Read more
