Steer clear of Clifton Property Services. They are crooks, who are just out to rip off students. They charge astronomical rates for houses which have underlying problems which are not made clear before renting a property through them. They use illegitimate contract law and bend the rules so they can milk you dry of every last cent without ever doing their duty as an agent. We paid an agency fee so that we could have someone to rely on when we needed problems to be fixed. Why isn't any thing ever done?... Read more

Absolute joke of an agency. Never spelled my name correctly despite having both my passport and drivers' licence on file. Extortionate fees. Incompetent staff who do not show up on time or at all. Really poor standard of written communication (rubbish grammar, incorrect spelling) - highly indicative of the shoddy service you are likely to receive, and of just how much they actually care about you as a tenant. Will not respond to emails for several days/weeks, or return calls on time.... Read more

Rented a house with CPSL for a year. We had numerous problems with the property (mainly damp related) and with the agents providing incorrect documents and failing to adequately respond to our correspondence. When it came to returning the deposit the agent repeatedly ignored my emails. I did eventually receive the deposit when I sent a recorded delivery letter notifying them I intended to pursue court proceedings. But, still no apology for their lack of correspondence. In short, go somewhere else save yourself the time, money and hassle.... Read more

very unprofessional, complete lack of primitive communication skills. Very very unfortunate attempting to rent through this 'business'. From my experience I have no idea how George, one of the lettings agents has kept his job there, if not any job due to his lack of competence. Furthermore, from the overall lack of interest from the manager himself I have no idea how this company is still in business. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!... Read more

Only 'on the ball' when taking money... Unfortunately I cannot recommend this lettings agents. Throughout our tenancy we had to deal with delays, unanswered communications and incompetence at all levels of the business. The professionalism seemed only to be present when eager to sign us up to the property, and disappeared soon afterwards. The 'check-out fee' of £140 was an unwelcome surprise, and I think pretty unreasonable and unjustified. I won't be doing business with this agent in the future, as a landlord or tenant.... Read more

I have just moved out of one of their student lets and I would highly recommend that you AVOID renting with them. They were extremely slow with paperwork and fees often asking us several times to complete or send paperwork /fees that we had already done weeks ago. After leaving the flat in perfect condition we were told we were losing £100 of our deposit for a "check-out fee". They didn't even perform the checkout it was the landlords who spent 5 minutes checking the flat before saying it was fine. So all in all, they are useless letting agents who give you no help all year and then steal 10% of the deposit at the end of your tenancy. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND... Read more

Such a nice change to deal with property agents who aren't completely self absorbed, rude or fake. Despite taking quite a hefty admin fee, Ashleigh was professional and pleasant. It felt like dealing with normal genuine humans, rather than the hideous robots you usually find at letting agents. Very pleased with the whole process and very lucky to have found a decent flat with a decent landlord. Unfortunately I do feel this is down to luck more than anything else, but Clifton Property Services don't need constant chasing to get a viewing or a response. I still resent having to pay nearly 500 pounds to be introduced to a lady who wants to rent her flat. But c'est la vie...don't get me started on recruiters.... Read more
