After renting a property for a year with CMC as a Tennant, the day to day management of the property was fine. Response times were not too late when issues were reported. When trying to get my deposit back however, the company grossly mishandled the process, delaying the return of my deposit for a whole year! Perhaps my deposit request was simply shuffled around for a year because of high staff turnover, but anyone looking to rent a property from CMC (or Owners) should be wary of their processes. I would encourage CMC to start with better customer service, trying to empathise with tenant's issues instead of ignoring them. It was the most frustrating thing chasing up my deposit over a year and some empathy would’ve been appreciated.... Read more

I was quiet happy with cmc service especially Collin. Very friendly and prompt response. Unfortunately last one year they failed transfer tenants rent, no account statement, no invoice, no explanation for the deduction. Tried to contact Collin on phone, mail etc, no response. Staff in the Edinburgh office very rude and not passing any information that why they making continues default payment.... Read more

They are awful. Whenever anything went wrong in the flat they would take days to fix, there was a point in winter where our heating broke and we called so much they blocked our calls, meaning it took over a week for someone to fix it. And despite our lease ending they haven't payed our deposit back and our ignoring our emails. They are shady, rude and downright useless, avoid at all costs.... Read more

Would not touch with a barge pole in future! They have proved themselves completely incompetent from start to finish. When we first moved into the flat they assured us they had done a final inspection, however there was broken up furniture and rubbish strewn all over the floor. The flat was filthy and despite them calling in their contracted cleaner the flat was still disgusting when we moved in. The light fitting in the bathroom was hanging out of the ceiling with the wires exposed and one of the doors was only hanging from one hinge. Even though the flat was in a very poor state of decoration they still tried to increase the rent as soon as they were legally able to. They require 3monthly inspections but are very difficult to contact - the assistant staff in their office are friendly and try to help you but they have to check everything with their manager who is never present, so things drag on for weeks unless you hassle them. 4weeks after we had moved out they still hasn’t got in touch about our deposit and we had to phone them many times to even get the process started, and each time we phoned we got a different answer.... Totally unorganised! High turn over of staff so no continuity. They never phone back, and when you ask to speak to someone you are told, "I will just transfer you over to them" they are suddenly not in or unavailable. It is a large open plan office so they can see each other. i would not recommend them full stop.... Read more

Me and my girlfriend rented through this company around a year ago. My girlfriend put up a review on the facebook page around the same time but was emailed with threats of legal action so removed the review as she was scared. I don't think this is right so i'm putting my own one up. When we moved out roughly a year and a half ago, we returned the keys to the same office and company we picked them up from which was IME in tollcross. It is also the address on the lease document we signed. The manager tabby contacted my girlfriend saying she hadnt returned the keys and she was getting charged. So obviously we are both confused at this point to be told that the office changed AND the flat was taken over by CMC. This changed during our tenancy which neither of us were told about. Not only this, but after being promised we could attend the final inspection, Tabby told my girlfriend through email that she had already done the inspection with the spare keys she had. She sent a nippy email which had the this in it - "With all due respect, I don't have time to contact tenants who haven't returned their keys" Well Bravo, very professional. They also tried to take HALF the deposit for cleaning fees, but it went through the deposit company and after we sent them all the pictures we took before leaving we got our FULL deposit back. Got nothing but problems throughout living with them, tried stealing our deposit AND threatened us with solicitors when making a review. DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY... Read more

Avoid this letting agency! Staff are beyond rude. The owner of the agency is a bully! The manager makes you feel as though you are a nuisance for contacting her. Worst 4 years of my life with this letting agency. They ‘arrange’ contractors that mysteriously never show up but still claim to have completed the repairs. Landlord was under the impression the repairs had been done as the repairs had been charged to the landlord. Wish I had got out sooner. Then once I ended the tenancy I have had to wait over 2 month for the return of my deposit after numberous emails enquiring when I would receive it back. I had to start the process with the deposit company. This company give the private leasing sector such a bad name. AVOID. A 1 star rating is too high for this company... Read more
