Stayed with partner, room was small which we didn't know about in advance. It would be perfect for one person though and the bed was extremely comfy. Only reason it lost a star was due to the not being able to open a window and having to pay for the WiFi which I thought was a bit strange.... Read more

First, it is important to note that this hotel is meant to be very basic - the rooms are basically a bed and a lavatory with a shower and most don't have windows. But, the price is great. The location is amazing. And the hotel is clean and efficient. My little room had great lighting! The bathroom sink and the little mirror in the room were perfectly lit. The water in the shower was always hot. And the bed was comfy. Reception was always helpful. So, if you really only need a bed to crash in at the end of a day of sightseeing, this is a very economical way to go!!... Read more

Basically a bed in a cupboard, great for getting your head down for cheap in an amazing city. But don't expect much and the window is an extra cost! Bathroom has the amenities - very compact though. Also i haven't seen any disability access and there is a lot of stairs!... Read more

I stayed here first stop of my UK round trip Was suprised how small the room was only two moans room size I got used too but noise from next door sounded like 5 young lads were laughing making a bunch of excessive noise I asked them to be quiet and in fairness they did .. no hot water for shower when I left at 6.30 am apart from that it was nice clean comfortable bed ????... Room was nice, small but we knew that when booking as we did our research. We had a room with a window which offered a lovely view of the castle. The only downside, which couldn’t be helped by the hotel, was the noise from the road, I guess maybe they could put extra glazing in? I imagine the rooms without windows wouldn’t suffer from this. The people on the 24 hour reception desk were also friendly.... Read more

Rooms are tiny. Hardly any room to move around. Air con doesn't work very well, controlled by reception. Only spent one night. But after a long day walking around Edinburgh city in summer, although needed a cool down, the shower only had cold water... Read more

I guess you can say you get what you pay for, but it was so uncomfortable we didn’t even stay the night. The booking was non refundable. The place smells like there’s water damage and the bathroom is as if you’re on an airplane. No room to put any luggage either. Definitely do not stay here.... Read more

The staff were very accommodating and lovely, the price was very good but you get the basics of everything - ask behind the counter for the tv remote otherwise it won’t turn on. The view was great and the place was very clean - felt like I was on a camping trip rather than a hotel but I couldn’t ask for much more when paying £30 a night.... Read more

The standard double room has bay window view onto Princes Street and view of the castle. All clean enough. Shower,sink and toilet in some kind of pod. No double-glazing and 2 small plug-in heaters. A TV, only terrestrial channels minus bbc2 for some reason, but no great loss. The reception staff are friendly and helpful and 24/7 but things I had to find out myself... the hot water only comes on when the door of the pod is closed... you have to ask for a tv remote... any time you go out and come back you have to have them let you back in... An absolutely amazing place to stay if you accept that you've chose to stay on a budget. Maybe just one night would be enough. I'll be using it again!... Read more

Good experience. Excellent position in front of the castle and the place is clean and tidy. The rooms are very small but they all have their own bathroom. You pay as if you were in a hostel but you have your own privacy as in hotels!... Read more

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location, reasonable priced , small but clean rooms. The only down side is the noisy room air conditioning/filter unit. You feel sleeping in an airplane.... Read more
