Have visited the Christmas Village at Battersea Power Station twice - once before Christmas and once today after Christmas. You will be impressed by the sheer scale of the beautifully renovated power station building. The waterfront area and coal jetty have been nicely landscaped - here you are far away from the usual roar of London traffic so there’s a sense of peace and calm that’s rarely to be had in the capital. Beautiful views of the meandering Thames. Hundreds of Christmas trees and thousands of fairy lights make it a pretty sight in the twilight. Festive hoopla games free for every one and free boules. And unobtrusive classic Christmas tunes. They have tried really hard to make this a Christmas treat and we certainly appreciated it. Had a snack at Megan’s (book ahead). One negative (hence 4 stars) is that there are a surprising amount of changes of levels - my friend did fall foul of one and in falling broke her beloved camera. Fortunately she wasn’t hurt but the camera is shattered beyond repair so our trip was spoiled. Aren’t they supposed to mark changes of levels with yellow? Guys if you are looking for tranquility and calm you will enjoy this new London quarter but look where you are putting your feet!... Read more

Visited here in December 2021 for the first time since the refurbishment, really enjoying the experience. The actual power station is nothing short of epic, towering high and justifying it's cultural icon status. Lots of trendy restaurants and bars in the area, no doubt ready for the residents of thousands of new flats being built around this colossal estate.... Read more

Interesting to see how they have developed the power station and regenerated the whole area. There are a few eateries there and it's a great view of the Thames both ways. Okay to spend a few hours at and have coffee or a drink.... Read more

The perfect example of 19th Century Victorian British architecture. Previously used to power a part of London's commercial and residential properties using coal, this unmissable landmark will still look great with it's latest 21st century facial.... Read more

Vanmoof Bikes showroom at Battersea Power Station would get 6 stars from me if it were possible. When I visited this with a friend this afternoon, the attentive and helpful staff immediately arranged a test ride on one of their most amazing bikes. I walked in out of simple curiosity but left as a very serious prospective customer. I have never ridden such a smooth, agile and responsive machine .... Read more

Indisputably an emblematic Twentieth Century London landmark; the towers firmly embedded in the public consciousness. A painstaking and exacting pastiche recreation, restoration and repurposing as the hub in a massive multi-purpose development in a new precinct. 21st.Century London reimagined as a secure, patrolled zone. “ …. every move you make every breathe you take ( they’ll) be watching you….” Currently very much a work in progress with limited options but definitely worth a peek. 3 YEARS LATER Relentlessly progressing, a new Northern Line extension and station and massively … massive but still limited amenities + diversions in a precinct lacking in adequate public ???? facilities.... The old thermal power station, famous for its beautiful and iconic four chimneys. It is also known as the cover of Pink Floyd's album, Animals. It is now closed and is being redeveloped. The area is lined with trendy cafes. At night, the four chimneys are beautifully lit up and worth a visit.... Read more

A truly historic site - yes. Truly historic. But probably the least efficient repurposing of a derelict piece of real estate in memory. Allowing it to sit derelict for over thirty years only to have this be ‘the solution’ boggles the mind.... Read more

In Ambrose House in Battersea Power station the residents are very rude. I engage in a lot of charity work and I came to visit a very kind friend who often helps me in charity. As I was walking into the complex I simply held the front door of the building as it was windy that day. A very rude I think Nordic origin lady shouted at me and said I was 'breaking the glass door'. At that moment i realised that maybe I am Superman and i have immense strength not known to man. I am shocked at the arrogance and entitlement of the residence. If they do not belive in the great architecture of the place then why do they live there? They have no faith in their own home/place of residence. Shocking how entitlement makes people into monsters.... Read more

The iconic Grade II* listed building and surrounding area is being brought back to life as one of the most exciting and innovative mixed-use neighbourhoods in the world – a place for locals, tourists and residents to enjoy a unique blend of restaurants, shops, parks and cultural spaces. A legendary landmark that’s a symbol of hope and positivity. Uniting people from far away and just around the corner to create a new community that’s already thriving. This is a place to work, live, shop, eat and enjoy. Here life doesn’t feel ordinary, it feels extraordinary.... Read more
