We recently visited the Redrow Bridgewater View development. It was honestly our worst experience bar none of our home finding journey. We met a sales lady in the office and the experience was surreal. We had our heart set on “The Canterbury” Home after seeing it online. We originally completed an online enquiry and heard nothing for several days. We arranged an appointment and received a call literally two mins before we arrived which was pointless. We had seen on the Redrow website that for properties which had not yet been released you could use a “prime locator” option in order to get first refusal. When at the development the lady informed us that Redrow “Prime Locator” option was not available on developments such as Bridgewater View as they are very popular and that the “Prime Locator” option is only available on less popular developments. Clearly this doesn’t make sense from a customer point of view as the need to use “prime locator” would be less important on a development which was experiencing less interest. Clearly the only party that this benefits is Redrow homes to secure forward sales. As there was no “The Canterbury” homes available yet we were told we could register our interest and then we would be sent a text message when they are released for sale. She then gave us an example that this had happened earlier this morning when two homes were released which were later reserved within four minutes. This simply means that the first person who calls gets to reserve the plot, and went on to ask if we would like to register our interest. She seemed a little taken back when we said “absolutely not, why would we want to get our hopes up and wait an unspecified amount of time to only get a text message to say our preferred home has been released and then have to be in a position in which we could drop everything if that was even possible only to call and find out they had already been sold within minutes.” A completely pointless and lacklustre offer for someone who is wanting to spend upwards of half a million pounds. It was confusing when she pointed to the development and said “you see if we let people reserve them straight away these would already be sold?!” I suppose they need to keep themselves in a job as “sales” people. It’s utterly baffling that Redrow even pay for sale staff when apparently all they do is register interest and then send out a text message and take a reservation on a first come first served basis depending on whoever has their phone to hand. God forbid it’s a poor surgeon who is operating on someone who apparently needs to drop his scalpel and leave the operating theatre in order to quickly be the first person to make the call to secure their home. Their offering is absolutely pointless. Ironically the next day we put in an offer on our dream home which was larger then “The Canterbury” and in a much nicer area and had the offer accepted. Was wondering why a property was released when they have it for specific person. Very partial and racist!!!!!... Read more

My partner and I visited Bridgewater View this week and found ourselves feeling very uncomfortable by the lady who greeted us. We are a young couple yet we were made to feel like we couldn’t afford these houses as the “lady” in question was reluctant to let us look around the property at first. We most surely can and we will not be purchasing a red row home in the future.... Read more
