    We were a little reluctant to sell with Foxtons as other estate agents offered lower rates, but after trying a few other agents first we wish we’d chosen to sell with them from the start. The service was a different level with Foxtons - their sales team were engaged, friendly, helpful and always available. Chris Howard provided an excellent service, paying attention to detail and always keeping us updated with any progress made. Joanna and Chan were also superb. We had tons of viewings in a difficult sales climate, they negotiated a fair offer and managed the process through to exchange of contracts with total professionalism. Top quality service and definitely worth the slightly higher fees.

    Like a bunch of clowns running a circus. They lure you in by inviting you to sit in their nice fancy shop floor, offering you drinks and an informal chat with an estate agent who knows what hes talking about. From here on they just take and take. We signed a rent contract, paid one hell of a deposit and extortionate fee's - near £3000, on the condition that the house was cleaned professionally before we moved in. We were told we were lucky enough to have Foxtons managing our property for the landlord has he was overseas. We arrived on moving day to a nightmare that seemed to never end. Hottest day of the summer, 2pm - ferrying our belongings from a storage container, we were ecstatic to get in to a clean, completely fresh house and start unpacking. We knew that Foxton's had carried out one last complete check of the whole house so we had nothing to worry about ..... right?! It all started when we physically couldn't get in to the house with the keys that we had been given. In all fairness the estate agent did come out to us to assess the situation, but WITHOUT Foxtons set of keys. Still no further with getting in, he proceeded to fetch their set of keys for them not to work either. It seemed that the lock was broken and we needed to wait until 7pm for a locksmith to attend. We had no other choice but to continue to empty the storage container into our cars and bake in the days heat waiting for entry. When we did finally gain access to our new "home", we found it filthy. In fact, it was absolutely disgusting. Even though we didn't want to unpack a thing, or sleep anywhere, we had to reluctantly carry on bringing in our bags and boxes as nothing could be done about it at 8pm at night. The photographs of inside of the house from when we moved in make my skin crawl to this day. We sent them all to Foxtons, who did absolutely nothing with them and nothing about it. The following morning we expected Foxtons to be on the ball. But we were notified that a cleaner could not attend the property for a further three days. To top this off we also had no hot water, and were expected to have freezing cold showers for three days. We also had intermittent electricity and were not able to cook or keep any food in the fridge whatsoever. Having no relatives nearby or anyone we knew, meant that we spent a fortune eating out for the first week of our tenancy. The process of clearing out the house from previous tenants had clearly not happened at all and actually their leftover belongings had been stuffed into all of the cupboards, drawers and wardrobes. This was going to be another job to complete ourselves. For the first month, this house did not function as a home, and Foxtons had absolutely no urgency in dealing with any of it. I'm not sure where our £3,000 of estate agent fees ever went and more so, what it was for, been as they had no interest in sorting any of this out. To this very day, nobody from Foxton's has ever been inside the property to even put their eyes on all the issues we've had over the last eighteen months. Not even for inspections, which they arrange and then inform us that they have cancelled three days after the inspection was supposed to take place. The hot water issues continued for near to a year and only then was the boiler finally replaced. We've lived with horrific damp which continues to become a bigger issue. We've lived with various re-occuring and ongoing issues for nearly two years and in that space of time only ever recieved ONE email from our "property manager". Some property manager he is. And some estate agents they are. We thought we were lucky to have them managing the property as the landlord is overseas but we hear more from him than the men in shiny suits who sit in an office just down the road. A waste of so much money, and nothing ever back. Quite frankly, if it was a family of four living in our home with young children, they would have been able to take legal action and would have received compensation. It seems, as students, we have been taken for idiots.

    Sarah from Foxton Muswell Hill would be the first agent to contact when I needed to move house again. She was very professional and friendly at the same time, did a lot of hard work for us, showed us a lot of properties that would have suit us, and shared us precious information that helped us a lot. The only reason we didn't rent our house through them then was that we changed our mind regarding the area, we chose another place closer to our son's school. Thanks Sarah and Fotxton!!

    Foxtons did a thoroughly professional job in valuing, marketing and selling my studio flat in Elephant, right through from Dan, who did the initial valuation, through to James, who saw the sale through once it had been agreed. In between, several different agents were involved in showing prospective buyers round. Dan's valuation was higher than the other two local agents that I approached and this just about justified the higher 2.5% fee charged. Everybody knew what was going on and they reacted quickly at every stage of the process. I am very satisfied with the service provided.
