NEVER rent a property through Granvilles. There were building works throughout the whole tenancy period left unfinished making us unable to use the back garden. Damp in the bathroom and kitchen that went unfixed for the whole tenancy. The staff that work there are rude and incompetent, never dealt with such a horrible company before!
My housemate complained about a leak in his ceiling and it was never rectified, only when his ceiling caved in in the middle of the night did they react. If he didn't move his bed he could have been seriously injured.
When I vacated the property they tried to charge me for scuffs on the wall, when I had photo evidence of scuffs all over the walls when I moved in. They also charge you deposit de-registration fees and check out fees, but if you dispute this with the deposit scheme, they will say they legally can't charge these fees. Do not let them get away with it!! They also tried to bribe me by offering me my full deposit back if I stopped disputing their company standards with the deposit scheme. AVOID THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS.

This is essentially a small-time cowboy operation with endless extortionate fees for anything and everything and the rudest staff you will meet.
The manager on occasions was aggressive, rude, incompetent and threatening in her use of holding the power when in came to certain situations.
I can't stress enough how much I would steer clear of this company

I cannot stress enough how much I would avoid working with this estate agent if I had my time again. More people need to write reviews to make others more aware of what they are in for. Granvilles are completely incompetent, filled with excuse after excuse. From the moment we paid the full holding deposit it has been a constant flow of intimidation and threats, and deposit withheld without significant reasoning. Please, before you choose this company, do your research. To landlords - your fees are not being used for keeping your house in working order, I'm not sure where this money is going though clearly not towards the homes, properties are not meeting expectation due to their inability to keep on top of things. Standards have slipped, giving Granvilles a bad name, and in turn, turning people away from your homes. The reviews below are on point and are of great assistance.

Never EVER rent with Granville's. My friends and I read the bad reviews here but decided to go ahead anyway and now we regret it.
They are worse than useless. Even the most basic problem they are incapable of fixing and instead try and blame us.
They use the most incompetent handymen who have sometimes ended up breaking more than they fix. They are also aggressive and rude and unbearable to deal with. That is, when they're not ignoring our complaints completely.
No matter how desperate you are please, PLEASE think twice before you move into one of their properties. You'll be doing yourself a big favour.
If only I could give them zero stars.

Avoid at all costs! The service we received from Granvilles was terrible and completely unprofessional- and that's just when they can be bothered to return our emails. A few months later and we're still disputing issues with them. Definitely not worth it

This 'company' is absolutely the most unprofessional and incompetent establishment I've ever come across. The house was in filthy condition when we arrived. We were aware that they had retained the previous tenants entire deposit, however what they spent the money on I am not sure, but it definitely was not on improving the property. We were never provided with an Inventory at the beginning of the tenancy which caused massive problems when we came to look for our deposits back upon vacating the property. They tried to con us for every penny of our deposit and blamed us for things that were not our responsibility, not to mention an extortionate fee charged per person just to give a reference. We were engaged in a two month long dispute with them over deductions they intended on making for ridiculous reasons and at extortionate rates. During this time the members of staff behaved with complete un-professionalism and delayed the process as much as they could, sometimes taking a week or so to respond to our urgent emails requesting our money back. We eventually got it back but not without having a considerate sum deducted beforehand. I would urge people to please avoid this place at all costs. It is not worth the grief and agro that you will have to endure in dealing with them and you will more than likely come out of any transaction being totally ripped off. I honestly don't understand how they are still in business and it really concerns me to think that others will have to go through what we did. It's such a pity that these places are not regulated as I feel that they would not be still standing if that were the case. Please avoid.

I have rented a number of houses from this agency for a long time not once have i had a problem with them.
My children have grown uo in the granvilles properties and i can say that we have been very happy.
They have been helpful in every way possible and are very efficent in getting problems solved wheatger it be maintence,neighbouring issues or even promblems with rent!
Along the tears i have rented with granvilles i can say that not once have i come across a home in bad conditions they have always been in very good standard with all the ensiential furnishing if included with the property,
I have bewn through some hardsgip and can say that granvilles have been tgere to support me and to find a way not to fall behind in any rent payments.
I can say that this agency works to best of their ability and treats people with respect and professionalis, they are always trying to help in any way they can and would sort out pretty much everything of course with due time.
I would recomend this agency as i have done so to anyone that wants to rent or buy as they provide a good service to any one.

I would advise anyone thinking of letting a house off these people to think again. NEVER have I come across a more unprofessional establishment in all my life. They left our house in an absolute STATE before we moved in with broken fittings, piles of rubbish bags and FILTHY walls, then had the audacity to make us try and pay for the majority of these damages when we moved out. Even if they were letting the house of my dreams I wouldn't go near them. They made us feel like they were doing us a favour/going out of their way whenever they carried out any kind of minor maintenance that is the standard duty of any landlord. They were rude and unprofessional throughout the duration of our tenancy and for the months following until we eventually got our deposits back, minus a healthy chunk they took for absolutely pathetic reasons. Also, the house was extremely poorly ventilated, resulting in disgusting mould and damp everywhere which they made US pay for. An absolute joke, much like the people that work there. STAY AWAY for your own sake.

I was sub letting a room that was rented out by this agency and I have to say that I was horrified and disgusted with not only how they treat their tenants but by their complete lack of professionalism. They are con artists who are qualified in nothing other than scamming money from people. They let out the house in bog standard condition and then tried to keep our deposit at the end of tenancy. They gave ridiculous reasons for trying to take money off us and only for us fighting back, they would have took us to the cleaners and more than likely kept it for themselves. Greedy is not the word. The woman at reception just sits at her desk all day doing God knows what, but whatever it is it's not responding to emails or calling people back. She displayed nothing but pure and utter laziness in her conduct with us and didn't seem to know what she was talking about half the time. Clearly the people working here do not know how to follow correct procedure when dealing with people and I am genuinely shocked that there are not more people reviewing this place and calling it out for the absolute disgrace that it is! Do not go near this place if you don't want to be ripped off and lied to. The place deserves to be shut down.

Avoid at all costs. Nearly took them to court after they tried to take £1000 off a £3000 deposit when there was nothing wrong with the house, which was in a poor condition throughout. Consistently rude, overbearing, manipulative, awful people trying to charge us for even minor changes to the contract and hiking the rent up. Since they failed to put our deposit in the mandatory scheme all estate agents must do, we were able to get our money back in full, otherwise we would have taken them to court. So in summary, avoid them like the plague. Estate Agents like this should be forced to close, an absolute disgrace that they are allowed to make money from providing such a poor service.
