We instructed Hamptons (previously Greene & Co) to sell our flat in August 2019. We saw 4 estate agents in advance of instructing them. The other agents recommended a similar asking price but suggested they would be happy to settle with a much lower offer, whereas Ed Bloom reassured us that they would strive for more. A little more effort on their side definitely paid off for us.

Not only did they manage to have 4 offers close to asking (and above what we expected) within 3 weeks, they also made it a personal and pleasant experience. We were able to communicate directly with Ed Bloom if required - who was approachable, honest and friendly – and they had potential buyers in mind that they contacted straight away.

I would highly recommend Ed and his team and thank them for the time and effort they gave us throughout!

We used Hamptons International (formerly Greene and Co.) to sell our flat in West Hampstead. We obtained quotes and had visits from four estate agents and chose Hamptons because we very much liked Ed Bloom’s positivity, experience of the market and clear strategy for the sale of our flat and generally liked him as a person. Now having exchanged we are very pleased with the decision we made. His valuation was realistic, unlike some of the other estate agents who visited and the final offer we obtained was very much in line with this. As well as the whole Hamptons International team who did a great job showcasing our flat, we also were incredibly appreciative of the great job Cheryl Brown did, who was the Hamptons International sales coordinator. Once we had agreed the sale, Cheryl was in constant contact between us and the solicitors involved in the chain. Selling a flat is never an easy process and without her experience, knowledge of leases and support I’m not sure if the sale would have occurred before Christmas. Cheryl acted as a efficient communication channel between all parties involved and this helped immensely as she explained how things worked, helped progress outstanding items such as Camden searches and dealt with potentially complicated obstacles along the way. It really opened my eyes to the importance of her role in the exchange and completion process. Lastly I wanted to mention the service provided by both Ed and Cheryl which was above and beyond what I expected. What really impressed me was how they were available for calls outside office hours (e.g. once on a Sunday, once at 9pm and also on their day off), while this is something I would never insist on, I am immensely grateful for this. I would recommend the Hamptons International team for anyone looking to buy/sell and will definitely use their services in future.

I sold my flat through this branch and my experience with them was extremely positive. They handled every issue during the sale process quickly and professionally, with good communication with myself and the buyers as well. They have "sale progressors" which follow the process from start to end and make sure everything goes well and communication is flowing between all parties, including the solicitors. Cheryl, the sale progressor who handled my sale, was in particular extremely experienced, helpful and crucial to push the sale through, which was going slow until she took over and started chasing people involved. Everything went quickly since then and without her help I may well be in a different situation now. Thank you

Worse experience I've ever had with an agency. I called to arrange a viewing for a flat, ( looking to buy), the agent started to ask me tons of questions, when I told him that I just wants to see the flat his answer was ” listen mate I'm a busy man”, I told him that if he is that busy I won't waste is time and he just said ” thanks bye” Terrible service, won't go near that agency. it's sad to think about the seller who is trying to sell his flat with those guys.

I am selling my property in NW3. The following issues occurred when I contracted with the West Hampstead (WH) office:

- photographer dropped something on my floor and chipped the wood;
- feedback for viewings took three weeks to be given to me, only to be told the buyer wasn't interested in the location of my property;
- A week after signing the contract with the WH office, I was told that the marketing was going to be taken over by the Belsize Park (BP) office (which is much further away from my property);
- The BP office informed me that I had significantly over valued the property, despite the WH having priced it the week before (i.e. one of the offices messed up on pricing)
- I didn't feel that the BP office were particularly interested in assisting, and it was abundantly clear that the WH team weren't going to be helping (nobody from the WH team has ever contacted me since they passed the property to the BP team);
- Conversations with the BP office were extremely strained and I did not get the impression they were very motivated to sell the property;
- After realising that things were not up to scratch I requested to terminate the agreement and asked that all marketing be taken down immediately. They took a week to respond. The manager of the WH branch simply ignored me.
- Four weeks after the contract was terminated, the WH team still kept photos of my property in their shop front. I emailed them requesting that it be taken down. I received no response and it was not actioned. Finally after going into the branch someone in their lettings team assisted and removed it.

Overall, I got the impression that they were understaffed because why else would they simply ignore their clients and pass them to different offices. I believe the BP team wanted to undervalue to the property so they wouldn't need to try very hard to sell it, and they would still get paid. I didn't appreciate the tone that one agent took with me as it came across rather patronising and bored, I don't know if that was his intention.

On the whole, I would advise against contracting with them.
