Outstanding and honest service. For reasons other than the agent, the sale of my house took some time but Stevenette nonetheless retained stamina, energy and perseverance throughout the whole process whilst maintaining at all times a professional, honest and trustworthy approach. I've got nothing but positive things to say about Stevenette which I appreciate is not the norm coming from a buyer! Martin in particular was a pleasure to work with. Polite but straight talking and honest. They made the buy process as seamless as possible and jumped in to nudge mortgage brokers and solicitors when needed. Having lived in Epping for 9 years and moved 4 times, i can say with no hesitation this is the worst estate agency i have ever come across. the staff do not have the experience to value properties, the mannerisms of Mandy the owner are shocking. Stevenette and Company have been managing the letting of my property over the past year and I must say I have been very pleased with the overall service. I have never let out a property before and I was most definitely lacking experience. During some challenging times, their knowledge and advice was invaluable. I was very pleased with the advert and their guidance on a realistic rental value which meant that we had interest from the get go and were able to fill it very quickly. The team were always friendly and efficient and when the property suffered a leak they were quickly able to arrange a same day plumber (on a Saturday) and I was pleased with the work carried out. Payments were always received on time and I felt more secure and in control knowing they were managing it. Always best to go independent!!... Read more

I can only comment on the letting team as i have not had much dealing with the sales team. I have 11 properties rented around London and i have never come across such a unprofessional outfit. They charge you a management fee the same as all letting agents, but they do not have a list of approved builders, plumber electricians etc... so when something does go wrong they are calling around the local area like loose chickens. And this time they got found out by selecting a very bad plumber that cost me a lot of money. The letting agent will not acknowledge their mistake or refund even a partial part of my loss. there are much better agents. i have added this to the Essex property group and other have had issues with them aswell. so im sure more reviews will follow, UNACCEPTABLE STEVENETTE.... I would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you for selling my property for me. I have been looked after by Martin. It was quite a difficult house to market because there were no houses around to compare to but we got a great result. My Uncle had left me the house when he passed away. Having never had a house to sell I was very much in the dark. Martin phoned all the time with any information he had and kept me up to date. If I wasn't sure of something I was never made to feel silly and Martin would explain until I did get what was going on. It has been a bitter/sweet experience for me as I have had a house to sell, but have lost a much loved Uncle. Martin and Mandy understood this and were very sympathetic to me . We recently let our house with Stevenette. While our overall experience was very satisfactory, there were incidents that were less than desirable. We signed up with Mandy and were told throughout that even though they mainly do sales, renting is not a one man team and even if she is not available, others would be able to answer our queries. This was not the case as we did have a few questions about the terms they were offering and were told that the particular person is part of the sales team and thus cannot really help us. He did say he would forward the query on to Mandy and we will receive a reply but we didn’t and had to call back ourselves. This happened a few times when we were trying to get updates. After the initial 3 weeks (during which we had a couple of viewings and made changes to our initial offer) we were contacted by Sabrina who told us she has been handed the letting of our house by Mandy. We didn’t have any issues as initially we thought she is contacting us on behalf of Mandy. We would like to add that the reason we signed up with Stevenette was the way Mandy pitched it to us and her experience in dealing with people in the property market. Also we had bought the house via Stevenette just the year before and dealt with Mandy during a viewing and even though I had initially just dropped in for a valuation she remembered the details of the house which was remarkable. While Sabrina did a great job taking over, we felt that at times she became flustered while dealing with the events of the move-in day. For eg; a few instances: After the movers had taken our furniture and personal effects, we borrowed cleaning products from our neighbour and made sure it was dust-free and clean to a good standard. However we had a few viewings and had contractors come in for valuation and for carrying out the work. Given we did not know the updated condition of the house we decided to not go for professional cleaning. One of the contractors we had in before the move-in was for gas-safety check and installation of CO alarms. We had been advised that the same contractor usually checks the smoke alarms and ensures they are functioning and would replace them if they didn’t. However, on the day we just received a call asking whether the smoke alarms work. Now, a week before moving we did have an incident with food burning in the oven which had set off one of the said alarms. Based on that incident I replied yes. We do feel that when it’s a big safety concern (which smoke alarms are) instead of having asked us when we have already moved to another country and cannot recheck, and when there is a professional contractor already working in the house for gas checks, it would have had been better to ask the contractor to ensure that the alarms are working. The tenant was not happy on the moving day and instead of calming them down and getting in touch with us with all the concerns in an orderly manner, we had panicked calls all morning from Sabrina. Additionally, we were assured and I had even re-confirmed that the agents will contact the utilities on our behalf and inform them of the tenancy change. However after enquiring after the move-in, we were told we have to contact them ourselves. Similarly, there have been minor details that we had to chase up ourselves which we feel the agents should have been updating us with. However, having said all that, we do feel that Sabrina composed herself after the initial few hours and arranged for the relevant work to be carried out. She has been in touch with the updates and we hope to have pleasant dealing throughout this tenancy period and beyond.... Read more
