All were very friendly and helpful in answering any questions, concerns and dealing with all the paperwork and renting admin that comes with moving to the UK and renting a house for the first time here. I tried this firm to sell my property several times over the last five years and never got beyond a visit. If you call them they ignore you. If you don’t call them they ignore you. Then they become indignant when you point out to them how unprofessional they are. I suppose in this local area, around Henley in Arden, they have their “friends” and that is why I persisted with them. But honestly you come away from dealing with these buffoons with a rather unpleasant suspicion that they are not only casual and sloppy but aloof and totally indifferent to you unless you happen to fit their idea of a John Earle client. Estate agents are generally that particular breed of semi skimmed “professional”, who make awful lot of money by convincing you they are doing an awful lot of work but this coven is dreadful even by the unchallenging standards of the species.
What truly adds to my sense of unease about them is that they advised the seller of the property that it was worth more than twice it’s actual valuation when I bought the property originally 12 years ago. Is that ethical?
