Do not be fooled by the cover of this book. Although it looks beautiful from the outside, open up and you begin to see the pages are not worth the price you paid for them.....
The new build plots are thrown up with mistake after mistake made, oversized timber frames have made for weak partition walls (all for speed)..cheap fixings and overpriced (mdf veneered kitchens) that are not luxury or high end I'm afraid to tell you. Anyone who says any different are lying.
Of course you have probably heard about the luxurious villeroy and boch sanitaryware (made in Thailand) jones has used on the builds.
They have really pushed the boat out with these homes with the guarantee of much much more.
A stone throw away from the a41 which is the main route used by emergency services, just don't leave your windows open on a quiet night, especially plots 9 to 18.
Funny how jones used Chester racecourse and Chester city as selling points on there property websites. Chester racecourse is 4.2 miles, Chester town is 4 miles.
The site is closer to Ellesmere Port arcades shopping centre and the sewer plant of Ellesmere Port including England's second largest oil refinery only 2.2 miles miles away.
Sure one of the new residents will tell you about the numerous faults they have had the privilege of one of jones own 'customer care' team fix on there new 'luxury home' since they moved in. Faulty front doors and stair cases not fitted properly, no insulation in the roof. All while sticking to the guarantee of much much more.... including the odd faulty appliance.
And the grand Backford hall AKA the old council offices, designed by the late John Cunningham designer of Liverpool Lime street station and Crewe station. Jones got this for a real bargain at 1.2 million.
With 10 newly renovated flats, Sorry I meant apartments. You may even be able to fly a kite in one of the lounges if you opened the window wide enough. That's apartments 48 and 49 btw if your a kite fan. Might as well mention the scaffold your painter will have to get erected when you fancy a lick of paint in the spring.
Just a shame though if you are over 6ft3 you will definitely struggle getting under the shower in these. I have a sneaky feeling the designer of the bathrooms thought we were still in 1863 he didn't accommodate for the tall generation.
All jokes aside though you do have the privilege of being able to have your Lounge smell like your lunch or dinner for the rest of the day or night as most of the small luxurious (mdf veneered) kitchens are actually in the same room as the lounge.
Most of the flats have small rooms and are massively over priced for what you actually get.
Cant deny this is a grand building outside though with the odd room having high ceilings and big doors with sash windows accompanied by some nice timber and plaster mouldings.
Starting at around 300 odd thousand ... not to mention the 2000 yearly rent for grounds maintenance.. sounds like steal
If you have money to waste or are one for novelty and gimmicks and enjoy paying well over the odds then this might just be for You, otherwise invest your money in a property well built and Worth investing in.
Similar 4 bedroom properties in the area with more land and building potential go for 380, imagine what you could do with the spare change??
Don't listen to the spiel one of jones very own sales persons feed you.
There isn't one tradesman with knowledge on that site who would pay that sort of Money for one of these properties.
