AVOID Lagan Homes. Some of their sites have no broadband. The company use aggressive sales tactics and promise incentives which they then fail to deliver upon. The Health and Safety at some of their sites is also questionable.
Their staff are rude and inattentive and when a complaint was raised their responses were flippant.
After we involved our local MP, Lagan’s CEO replied with a sarcastic email stating: “Thanks for spending the time putting together your letter but we won’t be responding to you any further. Perhaps you might want to copy in Theresa May next.”... Read more

A Walker
My partner and I finally bought our first home together after years of saving for a deposit. We are mostly pleased with the finish of the house and the build quality and the development we are on is lovely; but sadly our experience with Lagan's Customer Service team has been less than desirable and has left us generally feeling disappointed with the entire buying process.
Although not employed by Lagan directly, the sales agent who viewed the property with us initially tried to conditionally sell us the house, telling us we could not proceed with a sale unless we used the agent's own mortgage advisor. This resulted in a confrontational first viewing in which the agent rowed with our own mortgage advisor over the phone as he informed her that her methods were in fact illegal. When we broached this with Lagan, nothing at all was done - not even an apology - and, as far as we know, the same agency is still selling the houses so, especially first time buyers, please know that you cannot legally be told who to use in terms of a mortgage broker. It was a really awful first viewing, particularly as we had waited so long to be in a position to buy our first home.
We have had a few issues with the house since moving in, some which which we accept may happen with a new home and others not so much; yet trying to get someone from Lagan to resolve these has been an absolute nightmare. We have, at times, had to wait weeks before we have had a response from the customer services team. Having moved in in December 2017, we are 9 months down the line and still, for example, waiting for a working doorbell! It took three visits before someone could tell us that the awful drain smell was a result of a very obvious missing shower part and we had to wait 7 months for a working toilet seat. The real frustration is the time it takes for the smallest of things to be resolved and the way you are then made to feel a real inconvenience for daring to ask for these things to be rectified.
Communication has also been awful - for example, we had a plumber turn up at our house one day whilst we were out - Lagan had failed to inform us that they had booked them in. We are still waiting for a phone call back from a voicemail we left in the early/mid part of August... I could go on, but I would be here all day. Perhaps I will write a review again when everything has been resolved...
Finally, we were sold the house thinking that there was a public area as part of the development (ideal for those with dogs and children). Lagan have now decided to apply for planning permission to build extra houses on this public amenity, a space which the residents are responsible for through a management company. As such, everyone on the development feels they have been mislead and can only hope the application is rejected.
A real shame because the look and quality of the houses are lovely, certainly far superior to any developments we have seen in the surrounding area. But their methods in dealing with customers, quite simply, is atrocious. I would really hope that Lagan perhaps listens to what their customers are saying because they have the potential to be a really fantastic developer, but not if they carry on treating customers in such an appalling way. Sadly, it's a case of they seem to not want to know the minute you have completed the sale...... Read more
