Lauristons commissioned Express Signs to put up a for rent board outside our rental property. The boarding company severely damaged the head rail of the property, leaving it in pieces on the doorstep of the property, when they took the board down (and not telling us). Lauristons declined to accept any responsibility for the damage. If you are a Landlord, AVOID using them.

I have to say that this estate agent must be the worst I have dealt with, from a pushy sales directer to the staff in the sales office changing more time than most change their underwear as soon as I learn someones name they have left. 3 times this year I have been told that people have left and gone to work elsewhere locally, I mean what are they doing to their staff?

A real driving force behind the 'wild west' opinion of estate agents that is so prevalent today in London, Having found my perfect flat along with my girlfriend, (229A Eversleigh road SW11) we visited the office excited to make an offer and hand over £500 to the nice man who was willing to take it in order to secure our offer, unfortunately however the estate agents had been more concerned with taking our money than doing some research in to whether it would be possible or not for us to move in to our new home, Following the falling apart of the offer, we were somewhat 'left int he lurch' with no flat to move in to and £500 pounds down, at first I was not stressed as i believed the money would be returned, and focused my efforts on finding another flat, although slightly downhearted, i was confident. After extensive searching, we found the perfect place to live, in many ways better than the first flat, although slightly more expensive- we made the offer, filled int he forms, until wait, no we couldn't afford the money required to move in because LAURISTONS STILL KEPT HOLD OF OUR £500 POUNDS!!! 2 weeks later their extremely now rude manager (he was not so rude when he was taking it from us) now gets shirty with us on the phone when we dare enquire where our money is, I feel truly let down and ripped off, and.... i now A) am £500 down B) dont have a place to move in to when my contract expires in 2 days I Hope this review is helpful Philip Sharp

I am sat still waiting on a callback from the agency, I was promised this by Thursday afternoon, it is now Tuesday!
i have emailed 4 or 5 times in the meantime, both to individuals, the branch and the complaints email address and not even an acknowledgement.

My tenant has some work that needs doing, this is fine, the bulk of the work though I was not aware of until I received a quote which quite simply was greedy. £230 to change a lock was the first item on the list and it continued in the same vain.

I instructed them to not proceed but to call me back to discuss, this call was not forthcoming so I arranged a local tradesman to quote for me, a much more sensible price, in fact less than half!

I needed to arrange access so after a few times of getting the answerphone I finally got through, to be fair, the girl I spoke to arranged everything very quickly to give the tradesman access to the property.

This was Thursday, she was getting her lettings manager to call me back and the promised callback has never materialised. The crazy part is that I have simply asked for an explanation of exactly what service I am paying for and also my contractual terms if I wished to stop using them. Hardly filling me with confidence that I should continue paying them a commission!

This is after when they originally took me on, they paid my rent to the wrong landlord for a period of time! It was sorted out but still a concern at a basic level of administration.
