LudlowThompson Docklands locked us in a 2 year contract with no break clause when we asked for one year or a break clause arguing the landlord would only accept this. Now we found out they lied to both us and the landlord as we all wanted 1 year. And why did they do this? Well now that we want to change one out the two tenants in the flat they want to charge a fee of £570 for the referencing check. They've done absolutely no work to replace the tenant, we found the replacement and their referencing takes about 2 minutes. Furthermore, we want to leave this flat not because we need to move, but because of the appalling service. The fee would still be fine if they hadn't lied however, they have. Now this would also be fine if they had provided a service of adequate standards, but this was not the case.

Wardrobes and doors without handles have been in this state this since the beginning of the tenancy, even though we have requested on multiple occasions for them to be fixed. We were in fact told, they would be fixed the first week of the tenancy. A year in nothing.

We were assured the flat would be professionally cleaned before our entry into the flat. They had over a month to prepare it. This was again not the case. With greasy surfaces all over.

We spent more than two months without heating or with it rarely working, when Environmental regulations stipulate this is an urgent repair.

The faucet was leaking since the second month we entered the flat until just a month ago (I will repeat we have been in this flat for a year).

We had a mouldy wall, which made us sick for about 4 months where we repeatedly were told this was being dealt with. Again in contravention with Health and Environmental regulations.

After all these issues, they always claimed Landlord was not giving them permission to fix them. Landlord claimed she didn't even know about many of these issues and only once we contacted her were they fixed. Thus, showing the incompetence of Ludlow Thompson, who not only provide, or better not provide, a service of appalling quality, but also lie to both landlords and tenants to play them against each other.

Our landlord has now vowed she will never use their services again and so have we. To top this off we found out that even though we paid 6 months rent in advance, the landlord did not receive this quantity when we first moved in. Their modus operandi seems to be to through lies play landlords and tenants against each other to charge as many fees as they can. However, this will not be happening again with us or our landlord.

I have been looking for a flat with impossible requests for the past one month and Amirah has been an exceptional help for me. Whenever I mention an issue, she was very quick to find an alternative solution that helps both the landlords and myself, the tenant. She is very friendly, respectful and very responsive as well. I will contact her in the future again if I ever need help in finding a place or perhaps buying my first flat in London in the future!

Whilst the process of finding my own place is not yet complete, Natalie has been very helpful and proactive in finding places for me to view which fit the profile of what I am looking for. She uses feedback from each viewing to refine the search, getting a good sense for what I could like. Natalie's help has made the process of finding my own home a lot easier and more enjoyable than it could otherwise be.

Jake of LT Docklands has been excellent from start to finish in helping us let our flat. I met numerous letting agents at the start of the process but opted for Jake because (a) I felt like he was straight with us from the start - rather than giving us the schmooze that we got from other local agents - and (b) he was super responsive and helpful with email communications and calls. To cap it all - and entirely against our expectations - he managed to secure us tenants within a week, even though it was in December (which we'd been told was the quietest time of year). This is not a cheap process but you get what you pay for. We have been extremely pleased, would definitely use LT again and would not hesitate to recommend Jake and his colleagues.

When you’re in the excitement and stress of moving, you really hope you’ll find an Emma. Too many times it can be all stress but finding a gem agent feels like having a guide book and someone else who’s already read it. Genuine, smart, helpful and efficient (yes and an agent!) Great experience letting my flat with Ludlow Thompson. Jake has been superb throughout the entire process, super responsive, efficient and very helpful. And managed to let my flat within a week! They are also prepared to go above and beyond to help clients, such as when I needed to rearrange my management fee/rental structure and both he and Debbie were excellent in helping to facilitate and get it processed quickly. Could not recommend them enough!!

Super helpful, great communication and solid advice. Have been dealing with Hassan for a few months now and can honestly say that the whole process has been so much easier than I had feared from my experiences with other agents. Terence and Roy were really communicative when I was buying, and answered any questions I had quickly. I think they went above and beyond what is expected of an estate agent during the process, and I found them to be more helpful than my own solicitor during the more difficult times in the process.

Had the pleasure to meet Lola, who was really patient for waiting for us and showed us the property around, giving us tips and letting us know anything about we might have wondered about the property we went to see!
