A Mickey mouse company, I have had nothing but a bad experience with the loughborough branch from the beginning to then end. Firstly, I rented from a private landlord through them, they failed to tell me until a month after I decided to go with through their agency that they require the renter to have their own insurance despite the fact landlord has insurance to cover themselves. Although yoi can go with who you please, they even recommend a company for you to get insurance from, it all seemed like it was an up-selling situation. If you do not get renters insurance you can not rent. So the first complaint was hidden cost until late in the process of renting. Secondly, I arrived in the apartment with my 1 year old that had supposedly been professionally clean through the deposit money of the previous tenant... The mattress was stained terribly, the were nails on the floor and dust everywhere. I asked for them to contact the landlord and they said they won't deal with that. Then when it came to people viewing the flat when it was my time to move, I agreed to times and arranged babysitting for my child and no one ever came nor did they notify me about them cancelling. My last complaint is I moved out of my apartment a month ago and I have chased them up about my deposit 4 times they say they will email me but they haven't. When I last spoke to them they told me I could speak to my landlord about my deposit (which I have now done) he said he will release it as soon as they send the details about how the apartment was left, so still waiting on them to do their job.... Simply phenomenal - in every respect! Martin & Co in our experience always seem to have the ability to reach tenants that other agents cannot and successfully rent our property long before other agents have even got around to listing it. Disappointed I couldn't give them zero stars. This letting agency didn't keep track of what or when rent payments were paid, resulting in countless letters sent to the house demanding values that were pulled out of their backsides, that didn't even resemble the apparent overdue rent and I was even threatened with legal action. Good luck having anyone in the office when you visit or ring up know anything about your property. When I went to sort everything out I was told someone would be in touch, they weren't. When I rang and asked for someone to get back to me, they didn't. When I sent an email, I didn't get a reply. Good luck getting your tenancy agreement signed, they won't send it for months. And to top all of the horrendous incompetence, on the day to move out we weren't told what time to hand out keys in. When we asked they said before half five, as that's when they close. When I get to the office at five, it's closed and locked. I wasn't surprised after the shower of feces their service had been all year round. This is just a small part of the problems this agency caused me and I would advise you to look elsewhere.... Read more

This is the worst estate agents I have ever dealt with; so much so that I lost my property because of them. Firstly I was being professionally looked after by the Leicester branch. Then I received an email out of the blue telling me that my account had been transferred to the Loughborough office. it was rude and there was no explanation. The Leicester office had no say in the matter. From day 1 the Loughborough office could not transfer the rent received into my account despite me giving them the correct information on several occasions. They continued to send it 'nowhere' and more shockingly they didn't realize the payments were being bounced back into a 'cash' account that not even their accountants audited. And then my property was repossessed even though the rent was being diligently paid by the tenant. These guys are completely shambolic and deserve to be stripped of their licence. Worst experience with a letting agency. We had to do their job because they couldn't 'find' payments apparently and refusing to give us back our deposit. The house was extremely dirty on our arrival, we left it very clean when we left the house( they decided they should deduct money for cleaning fees). Would never recommend this agency to anyone!
