Terrible for renting from. Although the house itself was decent, we had issues with the heating during the winter as well as problems with the hot water, and kept sending emails only to have them ignored or be fobbed off with a "we will send someone around soon", only to hear nothing for weeks. Contacted the landlords to find that they weren't being told by Martin and Co about the problems we were having, so from that point on we dealt with them directly. The landlords later told us they intended to switch to a lettings agent that actually helped their tenants (given that was part of what they were paying for). Pretty poor service from this agent overall, from both the tenant and the landlord perspective.... Read more

Best estate agents in the area. We used them for our sale and received excellent service and customer care. We'd dealt with many of the Old Town agencies over the course of our house move and the difference with Martin & Co was immediately apparent. David Moss took over our property management after buying out our previous agent's portfolio. Rental wasn't collected and our tenants even moved out without us being informed at any time. We tried for 2 months to contact him and the office but were ignored at every turn. In the end we had to force by threat of legal action the return of our keys and a proper checkout hadn't been done meaning the property was left in a poor condition and no money had been taken from the deposit to cover this. We have a portfolio of over 60 properties and work with agents across the area and never have I seen such an amateur service and negligence. Avoid at all costs... Read more

This was our first move and we found the whole process fairly stressful. There were a lot of times however that were made better by the friendly, helpful team at Martin & Co. Rachel and Sandra treated us like we had known them for years and we really felt looked after. Cannot fault the customer care they put in, it went a really long way to easing off some of the stress. I could not fault them, from the first meeting with Sandra at valuation we were put at ease and felt that we were in good hands. Then we met Claire and David who were also more than happy to help anytime. From the moment our house was on the market we were kept fully up to date with viewings and feed back. Excellent services from all staff encountered! Wonderful service from Claire being shown around the property, she was able to answer any questions I had, and if she didn't know the answer she found out and came back to me the next day. During the purchase Sandra was extremely helpful and efficient, she regularly kept me up to date with the progress; as a first time buyer I was new to the process and Sandra was always very helpful, explained to me the next steps at each stage, and has been instrumental in the purchase completing so quickly. Would not recommend renting from Martin and Co. Ridiculously long delays in repairs. Faulty radiators and poor extractor fan leading to mould highlighted in December, still not resolved in April. Email regarding The toilet being broken leaving us without facilities has been met with radio silence when I rang up to request this repair the response is they are waiting for some paperwork *hopefully* they’ll receive it tomorrow and then start the request to fix the toilet. Could not explain what paperwork was required to fix a broken toilet or provide an update on the repairs requested in December. Absolute shambles.... Read more

Dealt with Martin & Co in Stevenage as was looking to buy my first home. Found the advert on Rightmove. Had both David and Sandra show me round the property at different times.
