During a negotiation about renewing our contract, I was told by one of the managers in no uncertain terms that the landlord was their customer and they would do anything to protect his interests. This rogue landlord made up huge charges at the end of our tenancy to try to steal 100% of our deposit. Thankfully, the adjudication service found in our favour, but don't expect anything from Martin & Wrightbto help you - They simply don't care about tenants. They also serve section 21 notices on the day you move into the property to maximise uncertainty for tenants at the end of the tenancy agreement so landlords can push up prices. Avoid if possible.... Very rude and unproffesional. They will do everything they can to hold your deposit once you are out. They will deduct ridiculous amounts from your deposit because of "damages", no matter if they actually are damages or not. I would not recommend, avoid at all costs. The worst agency I have worked with so far, only bad memories. I have personally seen one of their employees use the flat's toilet when the renters' were out (during a viewing). List goes on and on. Be ready to go through a very long and unpleasant experience which includes them and the Deposit Protection Scheme.... Read more

O Tu?
They are very unprofessional and incredibly rude. It took them 35 days to send our deposit back, with ridiculous amounts taken for non-existent damages. It took me pages of forms and many hours to prepare the case for the Deposit Protection Scheme. Stay away at all costs if you want a peace of mind.... Read more

Before renting through Martin & Wright, secure a good property lawyer. It will pay for itself. I rented from them for many years:
There are a long list of failures to choose from:
During the move-out period, Jay Hayden informed me he had the right to enter the property to show it without my presence or consent. Despite my informing him I was spending time in hospital, his harassment persisted unabated.
Martin & Wright made no attempt to return my deposit for months, as they are required to by law.
They ignored multiple requests to identify which TPO tenant-protection scheme they belonged to.
They would not provide the paperwork so show my deposit had been kept safely in a separate account, as legally required.
After years of dealing with them, I have no faith in Martin & Wright's competency or honesty.... Read more

(Translated by Google) They are good, with many houses in their wallets. Difficult to deal with prices!

AVOID! Absolutely appalling. They put the rent up after we had signed the contract and paid the deposit. Turns out they had taken deposits from several "tenants" and were trying to play us all out against each other. We refused to enter into this bidding war so was left without a place to move to 2 weeks prior to our move-in date. Moreover, they tried to do under the table deals where they would pay part of the rent, presumably to secure the property from the landlord whilst taking offers from other potential tenants who could pay more than us. Disgusting behaviour. Besides from this, they were unpleasant to deal with, rude and never available once they had our money. They ignored our calls for a whole week. We really wish we had listened to our gut instinct not to trust or deal with them. AVOID!... Read more
