After three very stressful months and when I almost lost my hope in finding a good agency which doesn’t want to rip-off people or ask for ridiculous admin, reference and many more fees, I finally found Mathesons. Andreea showed professionalism from day one. From the moment we signed the Application form and gave the holding deposit, the process was pretty easy and straight forward. The property was held until we met the landlords, and from then we signed the contract and everything else was ok. Very organised estate agency since everything we paid for was correctly justified and fair for a tenant. I was also surprised when they sent me a sample of the tenancy agreement to make an idea how the contract will be which I think is a very important point to follow. Something that no other agency will do unless you beg for it. The reference check was easy to complete online and the answer was quick and accurate. The application form and tenancy agreement were not only in favour of the landlord so in general everything was exactly how I was expecting from a good estate agency.

I was messed around quite a bit whilst trying to buy a flat via Mathesons. They were always very slow in passing messages to and from the seller, were incompetent at providing status updates, and seemed to act only on the seller's side, trying to get me to fork out an extra £10,000 at the last minute due to a bidding war ignited by Hodders Estate Agents. These (Hodders) were not to ethical either, because they still put their clients offers and surveys through even with a big 'SOLD' sign at the door of the property.

Reading the two reviews below, we find them an unfair representation of Churchill and therefore thought of giving my view. We bought properties from Churchill, Old Oak Common Lane. The service was friendly and informative. Subsequently we are letting properties through them as well. They work diligently and swiftly at looking for tenants. In particular, and this is something we are grateful for, they try to find suitable matches to our wishes. They found us some precious ones. The three years we have known Andre he has dealt with us in a most frank manner which was not what one might anticipate of an estate agent ;-) and we like him very much! He always lays the cards on the table even if they may not be enticing in their honesty and gives us sound advice - we value this as it enables us to make correct decisions. Churchill manages the properties for us with a good measure of common sense and there are never any difficulties contacting any of the very approachable and professional staff when we need to. It is an estate agent whom one can feel comfortable to have as a mediator. Importantly, because of their excellent communication and purposeful understanding it is possible to negotiate and overcome problems amicably. There was a brief moment in time when we fished some other agents, but rapidly found that we should stick to the best!
