So disappointed - MGL is on Checkatrade and were recommended. We had composite decking laid - I don’t think they had done this before and left gaps and finishing edges that fell off after a week. We paid £4.5k for 22sq m. They say they do anything ... well not decking! We were messed about with start date and timings. They were untidy and we ended taking the rubbish from the mess they left away. Such a shame as Matthew was pleasant to deal with. Feel very let down.... Read more

We rented from MGL properties for a couple of years,Matthew promised us that the carpets in one of the bedrooms would be changed,it wasn't,and the apartment would be decorated it wasn't,we had to do it ourselves,and we had to purchase all the supplies by ourselves.he always seemed to be less than honest with us and we wouldn't rent another property from him ever again.My advise would be to be very careful read absolutely everythink.Even now the photo's he is displaying to the public about this certain apartment are 3 years old.they are the same photos we viewed back in 2017. Don't be lure into by the low fees and commissioned! I made the mistake of not believing the negative reviews and had suffered greatly both mentally and financially! Matthew is really unprofessional and will promised everything but will not delivered. I concurred with other reviews that it was cost after cost without prior agreement. I would think twice over handling your precious investment property to this company.... Read more

We had MGL Property "manage" our apartment while overseas. Yet, while they inspected the property just once in an year after insistence, they allowed for unauthorised installations and claimed high fees for repairs executed by friends without the invoices to prove them necessary or executed. They changed the contract just after onboarding a new tenant with fees larger than average and forged our consent on the new tenancy agreement in order to onboard a tenant without any due checkup evidence. At that, we issued the termination notice. MGL retained then the rent to make sure we paid the hefty fee they demanded to release the legally terminated contract by invoking prejudicial contractual terms secreted in a management services brochure we were not made aware or signed of. After we agreed to pay a final fee to save us the escalation hassle, MGL broke the agreement after cashing in, by postponing to handover the legally expired contract only to cash in new fees such as the groundless Check Out fee for a "cleaning" the previous tenant should have already paid for when leaving two months before and the new tenant complained bitterly about with pictures. Not even after complaining to their PRS association, has MGL handed over the keys, invoices for repairs in warranty and tenant references, credit score... Our loss grew to over £700 from fees not stipulated in the contract, without invoices and retained without our consent. This experience left us scarred and scared to let the property again.... BE CAREFUL OF THIS GUY (MATTHEW LESTRANGE) AND STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. Post initial review update: This is now in COURT. I've recently had my property refurbed by Matt from this company and it has been a VERY EXPENSIVE LESSON and I do not want anybody to go through the pain that I am going through. Firstly, it was costs after costs added to the original quote which was never agreed prior. Secondly, the workmanship is appallingly TERRIBLE. We had to constantly point out small things like missing screws, missing grout, uneven tiling etc (refer to photos). The worst being he waited until we had gone away abroad and could not physically inspect the work to claim that EVERYTHING has been completed. He then demanded FULL PAYMENT immediately, whilst we were overseas. We paid him, believing him that he has completed the work. Being in the property business, we believe it when people say "treat your tradesmen well, and they will look after you". How wrong are we with Matt. He is in for the QUICK MONEY and he has zero worth ethics. When we returned a week later, surprise surprise. NONE of the internal doors could shut properly! A shelf in the kitchen was poorly installed and couldn't even be opened. And there are more niggly bits that are yet to be completed. Refer to photos. And because he has already had the full payment, he became evasive. He claimed that he had "food poisoning" followed by "flu" after several attempts for an update. Coincidence much? Essentially, he has CHEATED us out of paying him the FULL MONEY and he had no intention of completing the work. He didn't even have the decency to inform us after promising to fix the undone work, and now our property have been left hanging when we could have furnished it.
