Bhatt Murphy represented me in challenging the police who had misused a law against me. I spoke to several high profile lawyers initially, all of whom admitted what had happened to me was wrong, but all of whom were sure we couldn't make a case, let alone win. But Bhatt Murphy were extremely positive and sure we had a case from the outset. Bhatt Murphy fought hard from start to finish on my legal case, they made me feel involved and was very sensitive to the emotional state that I found myself in from start to finish on a case that was extremely complex. The police killed my partner, Anthony Grainger, in an armed operation that was based on false and wholly mis-leading evidence. If I could give Bhatt Murphy ten stars I would, it has been a difficult time for us all as we lost my sister in 2019. The Charity inquest linked us to Bhatt Murphy - specifically Tony Murphy and I cannot ever thank him enough. He goes above and beyond his "legal duty" he shows true compassion, empathy and professionalism and I am so thankful for everything he has ever done for us. I am the son of Cherry Groce who was wrongfully shot by the MET police which sparked the 1985 Brixton uprising. Bhatt Murphy solicitors played an integral role in an inquest process which highlighted multiple failings and resulted in a public apology by the Metropolitan police, they then went onto help us to achieve accountability which then resulted in Restorative justice. Without their experience, expertise, passion and dedication I don’t think we would have got the result that we did. Most of all they empowered me and my family to have a voice. I have been using the services of Bhatt Murphy Solicitors for many many years now. In fact that I was one of their very first clients in the 1990’s when the firm was established. I still make use of their services today as I consider them to be leaders in their class, particularly when it comes to dealing with Actions Against the Police. I rate the services of Bhatt Murphy Solicitors so highly that I have encouraged other family members to make use of their services whenever the need has arisen. On each occasion, and there have been many, the solicitors at Bhatt Murphy have provided us all with an excellent service throughout right the way through the civil claims process. Further as a long standing community activist and campaigner against police violence, corruption and racism. I have developed positive and professional relationships with a number of other law firms but few compare with the solicitors at BM. I don't know what their strategy is, maybe fight corruption with corruption? They have no interest in actually helping you. If you've been the target of police harassment or malicious prosecution, these guys will just waste your time on the phone writing your details and then tell you it's not in their interest to represent you. I recommend doing a direct access search for a barrister who will help you.... Read more

Corrupt lawyers that only take the most presentable cases in order to present a facade. I had clear evidence of police corruption but they refused to look at my documents, stating that they "dont have capacity" to take on new clients -- this is after they got one of their barely literate assistants to waste an hour of my time collecting details over the phone. If you don't have capacity why did you waste my time?... Read more

Cherry pickers -- Myself and several others were recommended this firm because of their so-called "reputation" for fighting against the criminal elements of police. The truth is that in order to maintain this reputation they cherry pick the very best cases in order to uphold their image. If your case is not good publicity they will refuse it. The most common excuse is "sorry, we don't have time/capacity to take on new cases" -- Then why did you waste my time on the phone for 30 minutes talking to your paralegal who said she needed to take notes? Have the decency to be honest.... Read more

Lazy lawyers that want an easy ride. I had documented, black-and-white evidence of the police and CPS falsifying evidence in court, and these guys told me they're not interested in taking the case because "there is little chance of success". Other (better) firms have told me that I have a real case.... Read more

They care only about their image. I spoke to Raju Bhatt himself, regarding false arrest, false imprisonment, and a case where CPS blatantly falsified evidence. He told me that they were not interested in the case because they didn't think I had a strong chance of winning. I told him I'd pay for them to take the case to court anyway, and he said no. I asked him why he is willing to dismiss the case without even looking at the documents or papers, and he said "I already talked to you for 15 minutes". I offered to pay upfront for him to look over the documents and he refused. These clowns are only interested in their win rate in court, and don't care about justice. They will refuse your case if it is not good press.... Read more

A few years ago my case was taken on by Bhatt Murphy and I can't rate my experience highly enough. My solicitor not only won my case but whilst doing so treated me with respect and kindness. More recently I have had cause to contact them again. Unfortunately my case doesn't come under their remit . Even so, the solicitor I spoke with has been extremely helpful and (once again) extremely kind. This goes a long way for those of us unused to the legal world.... Read more
