I trusted Palmer Snell with selling my property. On one of the viewings, without me being present as I had given them my key, breakages took place. This included cracking 2 tiles on my bathroom floor. A tumbler was also cracked so it was quite obvious this had been dropped on the floor. It doesn't take a brain of Britain to know it was Palmer Snell or somebody they were showing round. They didn't let me know. Their local senior branch manager came on the phone today and gave me a load of attitude and denied it was anything to do with Palmer Snell. I'm disgusted and will be taking this matter further! I would thoroughly advise anyone to give Palmer Snell a very wide berth!!... Read more

FIRST CLASS SERVICE FROM START TO FINISH I contacted Palmer Snell regarding a property I saw available on their website for rent and soon after, was introduced to George in Lettings. We discussed the property I had seen and he also recommended viewing a second property. The viewings were arranged for the following day as I had told George I was looking to move quickly. After viewing the property recommended by George, both my son and I fell in love with it and decided that we had to live there. George knew that I was looking to move as soon as possible and so worked tirelessly to help make this happen. His attention to detail, communication with me and overall personality made me feel confident that everything would run smoothly, as has been the case. Needless to say, in less than 1 week after the original viewing, I have now been given the key to our lovely new home and without Georges hard work and recommendations, this would not have happened. Be very careful of these guys. George Thornton does a very good impression of a friendly honest salesman but this is not the case.He will literally tell you anything you want to hear to secure his commission then not deliver on blame it on other people. It's a shame because sales people get a bad name due to people like this.UPDATE I"VE REPLIED TO THEIR COMMENT AND HAVE HEARD NOTHING BACK! Having dealt with a number of letting agents across the country, I can honestly say that Palmer Snell in Winton completely exceeded all my industry expectations. From meeting George at the initial viewing, to dealing with Katie through the application process - everything was seamless. The experience Katie provided at check-in was by far the most comprehensive I've had. I used Palmer Snell when I moved to Bournemouth last year. I was happy to met George. He is very proficient and helpful. During my tenancy I have never struggle to communicate with him and all issues were solved as soon as possible - which depends on the letting agent and Landlord. I am glad that I met George and I can tell that my first experience with Letting agents in UK was great. If some day I need a place in Bournemouth again will go for George and Palmer Snell . Went to see a flat having checked that it suited my requirements (spinal injury, so I need ground floor and to allow my assistance animal); George assured me it was all ok. Loved the flat, said I was happy to put a holding deposit down that day. My entire situation had already been discussed and approved in principle by the landlord, so this was the logical next step. George said he had some other viewings to do that morning and would call me when he was done, which suited me just fine. It was a Saturday on a Bank holiday weekend so when the call didn’t come, I had to wait until Tuesday to try to get hold of him. George was on holiday (how lovely. Some of us spent that weekend panicking about whether they’d have a home to go to)— his colleague said she’d call me back, and to her credit she did, to say that the landlord was making his decision, that she would have George call me back the next day. George didn’t call. In fact, George didn’t pick up his phone to me ever again. Nor did he reply to any messages. Nor did George tell me that the property had been let, I found out by checking the site. So now I’m left unable to find a ground floor flat, in budget, that will allow my assistance animal, because even though it’s 2019, that prejudice still exists. So, putting aside George’s lack of common courtesy, blatant lies (‘I’m sure it won’t be a problem *wink*’), and inability to basic admin such as returning a phone call— and let me be very clear, there is no way he didn’t know that I had called, none at all— I’m now having to shell out £6’000 to move, let me reiterate; because I couldn’t get the flat I was assured by George I was in the running for, I’m having to shell out for storage, deposits and temporary accommodation which will cost me Six Thousand Pounds. Cheers George, you really did a number on this one all because you weren’t honest and couldn’t make a phone call. Well done. Palmer Snell, I’ve seen your standard response on here about emailing to make things right; there is nothing you can do to fix this situation, nothing. George from the branch lied on numerous occasions to get out of trouble and would even use the landlord as a scapegoat.It is people like this who give estate agents and letting agents a bad name.I've used my partners account to post this as i don't need any backlash.... Read more

Did not show to a viewing when my partner drove 25miles to attend - the branch didn't answer the phone all morning and when I did speak to the Lettings Manager - Tom - he apologised and said he "was late to work and didn't realise he had a viewing" - I did gain access to the property they were advertising which had 2 individuals smoking in it and rubbish everywhere (basically looked like a squat) if that wasn't bad enough he said he would email information regarding another viewing of a different property but didn't do this either. Prior to moving into a property my girl friend was promised it would go onto a rolling basis after the 6 month contract. Then she was told the landlord would simply not entertain this even with their best efforts. If you have to renew every six months you have to pay them 125 pounds just to sign a new contract which is a perfect money maker for them. Then they informed us the landlord wanted to up the rent and would not budge so i moved out. Every time they get a new tenant in they get hundreds from their new tenant fees. Now by chance i had meet her landlord by pure luck and was informed he had no issue with the rolling contract but palmer snell told him that it was not safe pratice. Then it turns out they convinced him to up the rent not the other way round.... Read more
